Recently Jo made a group on Facebook called Queers on Gears, a place to invite people to bike ride, get ice cream, or whatever we want to do. Yesterday we hosted a barbecue at the house..some people I knew, but there were some new faces too. Not as many people came as we expected, but I like smaller groups better anyway. Everyone was so nice! A few weeks ago a lady came into the bookstore and said she and her wife just moved here, and said her wife worked at the university..I thought about asking if they knew Jo, but I was like "ehh what are the chances?" Well, she and her wife came to the barbecue! Fairbanks is small haha. Another guy moved here a couple weeks ago, and kept saying "I can't believe I live here!" (After 13 years, I still say that!) People brought their dogs, which had fun running around, playing and splashing in the lake (I'd never seen Sid that active before!). We had yummy food, some people kayaked and played badminton, and we just sat in the grass and talked. They insisted on playing rap though, especially someone called Megan the Stallion..bleh. It was still cool though, but eventually I had had enough of being social haha, and went home to check on Pretty Kitty. I was SO tired when I got back to their house (Jo definitely was too, and he's more outgoing than me haha)..I was trying to tell Jo about Abby and her Greenies addiction, and totally couldn't get the words out right. Jo knows I stutter when nervous or tired, so I just laughed (that's what Drew Lynch would do!) and said I was tired, and he said "you got this!" I really appreciated that, Jo is so awesome and supportive! Going to bed was awesome haha
Here is a pic of some of us!
I don't remember everyone's names, but Jo is behind the person in the pink shirt, Maeve is behind him, Logan is the guy in the blue shirt behind me, and the dog's name is Shadow. Yay!
Mom took this pic of Pretty Kitty and her twin haha:
I'll have to show this pic to Liz (her owner) haha

Good morning! I'm in California! We're going to Mammoth today! (You don't wanna know how we managed to get here or how *I* got to go to Mammoth.) [That day, there were crazy storms, which grounded all the planes, so we had to keep waiting for a weather window. When one opened up, we quickly got on the plane and took off..seeing all the storms from the air was really cool! I later learned our plane was the only one able to take off..wow.] We're driving there. Well, talk later! Well, we're here in our condo (the same condo [we stayed at in 2003], but not the same room). Uncle Jack wouldn't let me play my music. I didn't really like there's, but Led Zeplin was kinda cool. I think the Doors had a cool song, too. I liked "Riders on the Storm"-TD, [I love that song!] and "Stairway to Heaven"-LZ. I also brought movies, and Jack and Danny like them. Write later! We went to the pool, and I met someone really nice - Jim. We are eating now. I had the biggest burrito I ever saw. I hope to watch "Twister" (if everyone agrees) tonight. I love that movie. Well, goodevening!

Good morning! Today we're going to the Bristlecone pines! Yay! And they *are* gonna listen to my music, LOL! If they like Led Zeplin, they should like HammerFall. Write later! The bristlecones were *very* cool. It was nice to be away from everything and just see nature. I managed to live through 40s music and jazz (they *refused* to listen to my music), and we managed to get about 40 pounds of dust in/out of the car (see the dust prints on the page?). [I love that the dust prints are still there! I think we unknowingly had the back window cracked open on the drive up.] Write later! Wo-hoo! I have the condo to myself and I'm rockin' to HammerFall! Me and dad went to town and bought an *awesome* dragon shirt! It is on a red background with a warrior about to slay it! [I still have it, but it doesn't fit anymore.] Tonight I think we're going out to eat again. *gets distracted by music* Well, have a good rest of the day!

Good morning! Carl, dad, Jack, Danny, and Eric are going bike riding, so I'll have the condo to myself for awhile. I've been playing this *awesome* fighting game! I'm good with the guy with the sword (he can twirl it, too!). It's 8:45, and they're about to leave. They said they would be back around 2. Good thing I brought movies: I brought Twister, The Mummy I and II, Cutthroat Island, Spider-Man, and FOTR. And I have...Hammerfall! Yay! LET THE HAMMER FALL! Write later! *few minutes later...* They left, shall I play Hammerfall? LOL! Write later!
They're back (it's 1:10). I got to talk to Amanda [I met her on IMDb I think, and she's the one who introduced me to LJ] for about 3 hours. It was *really* fun. She's a great friend. Write later! We went to Devil's Postpile, and it was kinda cool. Can't explain how it was formed, but it had something to do with lava and it made basalt "posts," and over the years they have broken and fallen off (hence "postpile"). [Devil's Postpile was carved by glaciers!! You can see the striations from the glacier if you walk to the top of it! Of course I didn't care about glaciers then, but I still thought it was cool that it was so smooth up there. It would be cool to go back! Just gotta get the courage to say "post" first LOL.] Then we hiked 2 1/2 miles to Rainbow Falls. It was really pretty. Now my shoes are grey instead of brown. [I was actually wearing sandals, and got some awful blisters..I didn't bring shoes because I wasn't expecting to hike.] We met these nice people from England & kept seeing them! And we met these other people. They were cool. Write later!
Ok...here's what Jack wants me to say...Danny is a common drunk. LOL! We just went out to eat, and Jack's kinda drunk. Tomorrow we go back to Torrance, and Monday me and dad go back to Texas. Man, I love it up here. Uh oh, watch out…I’m having SoBe! And Danny’s having some. I think he’s hyper already ([I] haven’t had any yet). Well, goodnight!
8-1-04
Good morning! We’re driving (actually, Jack is) the 5 hours back to Torrance…I saw the funniest sign at a store - “if you’re grumpy, irratable, or just plain mean, there’s an extra $10.00 charge for putting up with you.” LOL!! I just heard of another SoBe type - Dragonslayer - AWESOME!! And when we get back to Torrance we might go to the mall & look for “Renegade.” YAY!! Well, have a good rest of the day!
8-2-04
Good morning! I’m on the flight back to Texas. I had to get up at 5 in the morning. And guess what?! I ordered “Renegade” from the Internet!! [I think that was the first thing I ever bought from Amazon.] I saw the music video for “Renegade” yesterday. I didn’t even know HammerFall had music videos. It was really cool cause I had never seen them actually performing. They all looked like they were having a great time (especially Stefan and Oscar!), and before that I had only heard “Renegade” on the live CD, and it was awesome! The regular version RULES!! It got stuck in my head, and I love singing along to it. “Renegade, renegade, commited the ultimate sin. Renegade, renegade, this time the prowler will win.” “Templars of Steel” was also on the live CD, and the beginning is so cool! Can’t wait to hear it on the CD! But what song I mostly wanna hear is “The Way of the Warrior.” The chorus (“this is the way, warrior, walking the way of the warrior.” Also “this is the way we want it, this is the way we need it, this is the way…OF THE WARRIOR!!” Awesome!) is so catchy and you just have to sing along. "The Way of the Warrior is also on the live CD, and if that's what it sounds like performed live...wow!! "The Unforgiving Blade" is the best dancing song ever! (Especially performed live!) "And as your world's falling down for all the games that you played, and as your soul's falling down, you'll meet THE UNFORGIVING BLADE!!" [Ouch!] Wo-hoo! JOACIM CANS IS THE BEST SINGER EVER!! And "The Unforgiving Blade" is on right now! HammerFall is really obsessed with templars and hammers. Oh, well, they can sing almost anything they want and I'll listen to them
Blind Guardian isn't nearly as good as HF. I would like them better if Hansi wouldn't scream. One of the least expected things I heard on a BG album was bagpipes. Very surprising. But they do just happen to have "Battlefield," which is, of course, my fave song of all time. Rhapsody comes *really* close, but in 1 song they scream too ("When Demons Awake"). They have a 19 minute song! ("Gargoyles, Angels of Darkness.") But I really like it. I laugh every time their singer (I think his name is Fabio) says "let the mystic power of the dragonflame burn in your heart." [Don't know what that guy's name was, but it definitely wasn't Fabio who said that haha.] And laugh even harder when he says "believe it, it's the dragonflame." Dunno why (my weirdness taking over, or did I have too much SoBe? 2nd one is more likely). [LOLOL] Rhapsody is from Italy, and they do sing in Italian ("tenebra, tenebra, domina!"). Um, I would write more, but I'm running outta journal space (OH NO!) and I'm using someone else's pen. Well, this was a really fun trip! Always glad when they're fun. Have a good rest of the day!
