I actually have things to blog about in my insomnia! This past saturday was the most crammed-with-interesting-stuff day in recent memory. Earlier in the week a friend invited me to come with him and a few others to the Smith and Wesson range in springfield to learn the skills of pistol shootery, and I was happy to accept. So I get up bright and much to early (9:30) to go down to the dining commons to meet him for breakfast, as that's where and when he told us to congregate. Jogging over there so I won't be late, I stick my head in to find no trace of Joe (he's the friend, I know too many Joes) or the others. Thinking quickly, I thought that maybe I misheard and he meant we should be at the scifi library, so I jogged down to the center of campus. Finding the door still locked, I was very discouraged, and pretty dejected. I'd been so excited, and woken up early on a saturday. On the way back up the hill I decided to just get breakfast at the dining commons since I was already awake and all. After a few minutes of coffee cake, Joe wanders in with the explanation that it was ok for him to be late, since he was driving and we couldn't leave without him. Slightly annoyed but happily excited again, we headed off to the range after more food and collecting more people, all of the awesome variety. To make a long story shorter, I found out that 22 semi automatics are much easier to control that I was expecting, and 38 revolvers don't like me. Many happy hours later we all got really really good sushi, complete with green tea mochi for desert. Concluding the day, I met up with my parents to see the Valley Light Opera's performance of The Mikado. It's a Gilbert and Sullivan play, and was very well done. And very very funny. At this point I collapsed into a happy coma. El Fin!
