Case for a Title: Femme Fatale

Femme Fatale

There are a vast variety of woman that are currently undibbed within the Marvel Omega universe but could be more than capable to carry a title such as this. Janet van Dyne, the Wasp, was recently freed up and I see no lack of continuity in her transitioning from her role within the government to becoming the benefactor (if not heroine) of the team of Fatales. She's a strategic and analytical woman who has on occasion led the Avengers, whom she founded. I see no reason why she couldn't consider a street-level team of female warriors, it's not as if the universe is lacking them.

There, you have the promise and next is the cast.

Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat, dances on the thin line between heroism and villainy. Wasp could see the potential within her and despite noticing the risk, and the flakiness of her character, she could approach the cat burglar. Patsy Walker, the Hellcat, is another of the woman who has been shafted in recent years and with her former better hailf, Hellstorm, back in the active regions why should she not follow? Monica Rambeau, the Photon, was just a woman who wanted to help people and she could jump at the chance to once again be a part of something. Jessica Jones, the Jewel, tried heroism and failed but perhaps with guidance she could be great. Why not even throw Charlotte Jones in there! Who says these women must be superpowered?

Those are just some examples of strong, woman within the confines of the universe in general (although they seem to have become largely Avengers-based) and the roles they could play.

With villains there have been a lot female supervillains that have slipped into obscurity so why not bring them back? Lady Lotus could be profitting from her skills with herbs and potions in the drugs trade, running her own cartel in Malaysia or Mongolia. If she has the profits whats to stop the villainess from returning to terrorism? Or the Queen, that American soldier whose powers made her a villain? She knows the ins and outs of government and procedure, could she use her powers to infiltrate and destroy democracy from the inside?

I was just thinking with the recent interest in female generated titles. The concept is easily worked if focused on the roles of these women and get precise. A female title does not have to be demoted into a soap-opera bitchfest, when it can showcase these women as the heroines and villains they can be.
