I had an audition on Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue today, the big clarinet solo at the beginning. Didn't get the part. I do have first on another part with a gliss in it, but because of the way the rotation shook out that also gives me second on the Gershwin and Shostakovich's Fifth Symphony.
I guess I'm going out the way I came in: the little guy.
I should probably not decide right now whether I ever want to do music again after this year.
