This year's Anthrocon went pretty well for me, at least from a staff/Operations standpoint! This being our 6th year in Pittsburgh, things went rather smoothly. Equipment arrived when it was supposed to, nothing went horribly wrong or got broken, and set up and teardown went fairly well. I got to work in the Art Show for aureth this year. My responsibilities this time were mostly technical. I got to setup MySQL on their new server, and ended up dragging my laptop down to the art show so I could write code to generate reports on the Art Show sales ( Read more... )

FurFright was a fun convention this year! It started off with a bang in my first security shift on Friday afternoon. I drove out to Pittsburgh this past weekend for the Western PA Furry Weekend, a small gathering of furs from the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. Despite being in existence for 10 years, I never attended before, and since I missed a few cons last spring, I decided to change things up a little and visit this one. I'm glad I did!

Had a pleasant experience at FurFright the other weekend. While there were 979 attendees in total, the con didn't feel like there was nearly a thousand people present. This was probably due to the overflow hotel being some distance away and people heading off site for food, as well as furs going to the attached water park ( Read more... )

I've just made the decision to attend FurCoNZ in 2011.

It'll be a good excuse to visit New Zealand, as well convince some of my Australian friends to make the trip as well. (Are you listening, atpaw? :-) )
