One thing I try to do is to memorize something new every month. Some months I am better at it than not!
So far I have memorized:
American Presidents in alphabetical order
American Presidents in chronological order
Two paragraphs of a RFK speech (A Tiny Ripple of Hope)
The Gettysburg address
High Flight by John Gillespie Magee Jr.
Sea-Fever by John Masefield
For upcoming months I have:
"We few, we happy few ...." speech from Henry V
Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus - editor response to question
The Friend Who Just Stands By by B Y Young
What else do you think I should add to my list?
I haven't ruled out adding the books of the Bible or the 50 states.
I don't want to go overboard on Shakepseare memorization, but feel free to list any favorites you might have.
I also really prefer my poetry to rhyme.
I know some of you are from other countries and may be able to nudge me in other direction.
Thank you so much for your time. Hugs to all.
