Last September or so I asked for people to recommend me books, and because you're fabulous, lots of you did. I've actually worked my way through most of those now (and I didn't like every single one, but I did like lots of them), and I was wondering if I might impose on you guys again for some more recs.
I'm up for fiction, non-fiction, comics, young adult books, children's books, sci-fi, fantasy, crime, stuff which defies classification, whatever. Books, basically. I'm aware that's very unhelpful, but it's not so much a matter of what I'm in the mood for right now as what I might be in the mood for at some time during the next six months. I mean right now my librarycard is maxed out anyway. I like to have a list around to pull things from. It'll also help me feel less like I'm just constantly bothering Val for stuff she thinks is cool (though I like her taste so she is of course welcome to contribute *grin*).
Here is my LibraryThing account, which can be used as a helpful guide to stuff what I have been reading lately, although it is by no means a definitive guide to the sort of things I might want to read.
I am aware that I am evilly vague, yes. But if you could humour me anyway I'd be very happy. *g*
(If you would like to know, I'm currently reading... a lot of things, actually. Strangers, which is the book about homosexuality in the 19th century; Transmetropolitan volume 2 by Warren Ellis; After Dark by Haruki Murakami; Quarantine by Greg Egan; The Sculptor's Daughter by Tove Jansson; Ethan of Athos by Lois McMaster Bujold. The main conclusion which can be drawn from this, I suppose, is that my attention-span is awful. This is actually pretty unusual, to be honest; I rarely find myself part way through more than two books at once.)
