Flames engulfed the city of Los Angeles, and demons roamed the streets, looking to kill any human survivors that may happen to show themselves. It had been like this for some time now. Ever since Angel and his friends decided to take a stand, the Senior Partners had rained hell down upon the city.
The thing about waging a war that you know you can’t win, is that everyone dear to you is eventually lost in some way. But Angel’s friends knew the consequences. As did he. Now, he had to live with them.
“Go to this address,” Angel yelled above the roar of a giant three-headed demon.
The young man merely shook his head, taking the crumpled piece of paper from Angel’s hand and stuffing it into his pocket. Another roar came from the top of the building, and when the boy and Angel turned their heads upward, the beast came leaping down to where they were standing and almost landed on the boy. Luckily, Angel pushed him out of the way just in time.
“Why is this happening?”
It was a question that Angel had heard many times in the last month, and one that he never answered truthfully. He looked into the young man’s eyes…blue as the sky that was lost and would never return. He reminded the vampire of his son, Connor.
“I don’t know. Just go! Quickly!”
The young man started running away as the beast leapt toward Angel. The vampire rolled to the side and kicked out a leg, knocking the demon onto the ground with a loud thud. The creature roared in frustration as Angel raised his sword and sliced one of its heads off. The demon, however, was still alive, and quickly leapt up onto his hind legs.
“A little help would be nice!” Angel shouted, as a large dragon came walking from behind him.
With a gushing breath of fire from the dragon’s mouth, the demon was incinerated before the vampire’s eyes. Angel made a face at the smell that the demon left behind. Problem with setting demons on fire was that they always smelled terrible as they were being burnt.
Angel turned to walk toward the dragon and hopped on.
One more down.
That’s all that mattered now. One at a time…
After all, this was all his fault.

Los Angeles. The City of Angels.
Not any more.
Susan ignored at everyone and everything as she walked confidently through downtown L.A. Most of the humans stepped out of her way, probably due to the large African Machete she wore strapped to her back. She stepped off the main street and headed through a narrow alleyway to one of the last few areas which still carried any decent loot for her to swipe.
This time last year she’d been sitting in a crappy little cubicle in her crappy workplace complaining about the broken aircon unit.
Back then, being slightly uncomfortable and sweaty at work was her biggest problem… if she’d only knew what was to come maybe she wouldn’t have complained as much.
The woman quickly and effortlessly climbed over the barbed wire blocking her way, her make shift studded gloves protecting her already bruised hands.
“I‘m hungry.”
Susan spun round as she heard the quiet voice whisper to her. Squinting her eyes slightly as she peered into the darkened alley, she saw a young blonde woman leaning up against the brick wall.
“No Shit. Everyone’s hungry. Find your own food.” Susan shot her a glare as she walked on past.
“I’m not hungry for food.”

The streets were chaos. Disregarded, half eaten limbs littered the streets as the demons danced and fought upon themselves. The air reeked of destruction, its intoxicating scent driving both the half and pure breeds wild with excitement.
This was Hell.
And she loved it.
Her eyes followed the dragon are it swerved through the sky, its owner clearly confused by the familiar scent residing somewhere in the city as if it had never left. She stood on the rooftop and closed her eyes while the hot, smoky air brushed against her skin. A small smile crept onto her face as she felt the rooftop shudder slightly beneath her feet.
He had found her.
Darla lifted her machete and slid it back into its holster before spinning around to greet her rooftop guest and his dragon.
“Well, this little hell dimension just got a whole lot more interesting didn’t it love?” Her smile broadened as she shook the hair from her face and revealed her true face.
“Welcome to Hell Lover.”
