My livejournal seems to have become an announcement space for big events, rather than any sort of bloggery these days - I think I will try to remedy that a little. But for now, another Big Thing:
My mum graduated from the Ontario College of Homeopathic Medicine a couple of weeks ago, and I am beyond proud of her. Pam, Geoff and I went to her graduation at St. Mike's (air conditioning broken - boo!), and then we held a party in her honour back at her place. About 25 friends and family came, and it was wonderful! It was the same day as the earthquake, which we all noticed thanks to being in the dining room at the time. All the dessert plates started to wobble in the sideboard - it was straight out of the movies. The party worked well, even though I ordered too much food, it was blisteringly hot, and earthquakes and G20 summits threatened. Thanks to everyone who came (even my Uncle Rick flew in from Mexico!).
So congrats to my mum, who graduated, won scholarships, and is splendid in every way. She is currently somewhere in New York State helping the owners of a swanky bed and breakfast build a caravan. Because she is that awesome.
