A Craft Exchange

A few weeks ago, my friend Melissa posted on Facebook saying that she had some magnets that she made up for grabs. Melissa's a super talented crafter and graphic designer and she had been making these really cute Pantone swatch magnets and selling them in her shop. Well, turns out Pantone's got brand police everywhere and they told her to stop selling them. So she offered them to her friends!

I asked her for citrus colors since they'll most likely be in my kitchen:

Since I love the Pantone magnets, I quickly raised my hand! But I offered something in return like another craft or a baked good. She chose a craft. Ok, that means I'd have to find something to make that she might like and preferably from supplies I've already got. After looking around in my craft boxes, I found a small wooden picture frame from IKEA and a whole mess of washi tape. I came up with this:

Melissa told me she's got purple and orange going on in her office right now, so I stuck with those colors. Honestly, I'm not in love with the pic in there, but it was my best option of what I had. I like the picture, just not in this frame! But it will do temporarily until Melissa puts her own pic in.

A close-up of the edges:

I was pretty happy with how the frame came out! I used an acrylic spray to seal it all. I hope Melissa likes it! I feel like an amateur compared to her mad crafting skillz.

If you have a good memory, you already know that Melissa created my amazing wedding bouquet and boutonnieres!
