Sarah and Chihuly

My dear friend Sarah came to Boston for a quick 24 hour visit last week! Her boyfriend Chris was in town with his band and she'd get to see him and spend a couple of days with him before the last week of his tour. So we got to spend the day together and then go see the band he's touring with, The Wooden Birds. Even though it was hot as hell, we had a nice day!

We started out by heading over to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston to see the Chihuly exhibit. Dale Chihuly is an artist who makes sculpture from blown glass. Very cool. Sarah and I both took lots of pictures, but we agreed that it's hard to capture just how amazing this stuff is.

This room had all the glass lit from above in the ceiling, giving you the feeling that you were underwater. Here's Sarah trying to capture it:

This piece was called "Reeds." It may have been my favorite.

After the MFA, we stopped by Symphony Hall so I could show Sarah around since she's never been there. We got lunch at Trident Booksellers & Cafe, which hit the spot after walking around so much.

We headed over to Allston after a quick stop at home to freshen up. We met up with Chris and he joined us for dinner at Ivy Sushi. I got mochi ice cream for dessert- one of my favorites!!

It was a late, late show. But it was fun! Totally exhausted after expending that much energy and staying up so late in the heat, but it was worth it. I love getting to see my friends, even if it is for only 24 hours.

boston, sarah
