_amoreincauto here's a funny story:
within my household, i kinda have the reputation of being "the brave one" when it comes to medical stuff.
my mom, she tends to faint at the smallest prospect of being close to blood. and it's really extreme too, for example she fainted dead on a chair at the dentist's reception area when i went in the very first time, to extract one of my primary teeth. i was about six or seven, walked out of the doctor's office with the biggest smile on my face and there she was, slumped on a couch, the dentist's secretary waving a cotton pad with alcohol under her nose, patting her cheeks to see if she could bring her back from the blackout.
and then my brother completely refuses to have a syringe near him for any reason at all. be it a vaccine, or drawing blood or whatever, at his eighteen years of age he is not averse to whining, crying or even reacting aggressively if the situation ever comes up. the last time we managed to get blood taken out of him for a general check-up, i actually had to sit on him and forcibly stretch his arm out so they could get the sample. he was about fifteen, i think. yes, this is a true story.
anyway, apparently i'm the only one in this family who doesn't freak out at the prospect of a needle. i'm rather used to it, actually, because i got vaccinated weekly for my allergies for many years, so i really don't mind it.
well, thing is, today i had to get some lab tests done for the job, right? i went in (mom got my dad to chaperone, of course-- no way she'd be caught within 10 meters of the place and i'd rather she not be there anyway, since she'd be the one driving and i'd be too afraid that she'd faint on the steering wheel, or something) and my dad's all "you usually take these things all right, right?" and i tell him sure, i usually get a bit dizzy from weakness (fasting so the results won't be affected AND losing blood? of course weakness is expected!) but it usually goes away after a while so it's no biggie.
so they draw the blood and all, and i get the other tests done and go back home, eat, generally feel alright. my mom calls and she's like "you didn't faint, right? you're so brave." and i keep going "sure, no problem" every time anyone mentions something about it.
funny part? i can get through the needle just fine, but i have to think about it five or six times before peeling off the band-aid.
heh ^^;;;
and if it's okay with you guys, i've got just an itty bit of heroes babble: maya herrera is the stupidest, most retarded moron ever written on a tv show. honestly, COULD the woman be anymore stupid? i thought the women in mexican telenovelas were bad, but noooooo, maya takes the prize. *shakes head*
on the other hand, nathan/matt is cracktastic love ♥♥ xDDD
okay, that's it. no more pointless posts today.
i think.
