i just saw the CSI miami season premiere and i HAVE to comment. now, this won't be a very down-to-earth review because i'm still a bit hyper and i've been painting my room all afternoon (the smell is giving me a buzz, not to mention allergies). but i'll try my best to sound sane.
hmmm... is it terrible of me that i thought the best part of the episode was the fact that boti bliss is no longer a blonde? xDDD oh, i'm so bad. the bleached hair was just driving me up the wall, sorry.
and jake was looking scrumptious! i LOVE how he dresses, so gorgeous ^.^ i tend to giggle a bit whenever i see him, i admit. and i think girly went to my head when he said "hello, officer pretty!" awwwww, it was really sweet, in a cheesy pick-up line sort of way. not ryan/cal sweet, but i'm sorryyyyy, i can't help it if i like the guy! he's cool, and he's cool for calleigh, i guess, if i can't get my top 'ship... not that i'm giving up on ryan/calleigh! nu-uh! i'm just terribly infatuated with jakey-poo ;)
speaking of, how come ATF is involved with... every single case? jake is ALWAYS there! i didn't think the death of a PO would be particularly related to ATF. then again, i'm no US citizen so i could be wrong. *shrugs*
i actually liked calleigh's make-up in this episode, which is rare. then again, she WAS wearing black (or a very dark grey?). i also liked her hair and clothes, she was looking very southern belle. eric was... there. honestly, i just like him better with hair ^^;;; yelina was looking strangely soft, too, though i know that only makes sense in my head, but i think the PI job has made her less... angled. less sharp. and isn't it amazing how i'm typing so much and saying nothing at all? >.<
i feel bad for ryan, though. who would've thought the county could be so quick to hire new CSIs but so slow to reinstate a fired one? sucks for him =/ but well, at least he's working in a somewhat productive place. not like that TV station. blech. oh, and i liked his look-- i loved his hair (that messy look really works for him!) and the stubble, it brought out his eyes. i liked seeing him all... messy and... rugged... and stuff.
so he was in ONE scene with calleigh, and she didn't say anything to him. in fact, she didn't even LOOK at him ONCE. seriously, she kept staring down at this rick guy, not taking her eyes off him-- which would be useful as they were trying to force a confession-- but i almost got the feeling that she was reluctant to look ryan's way, like she was avoiding him. and i can't be sure of this, because of the camera angle and all, but i also felt like he wasn't looking at her either. because he stood there with that "i came, i did what i had to do, now i'm gonna get out of here before she can open her mouth" relaxed-about-the-case but uncomfortable-about-being-here attitude. and it had nothing to do with natalia because he was pretty comfortable around natalia in his other scene. THAT WAS SO DONE ON PURPOSE, i tell you! here we all thought that since she asked him if he was ok in "kill switch", that they were good now. THEY AREN'T! we might still get that apology scene! i honestly don't know if i'm happy about that, or worried. but i still want to see it so badly.
nat with a gun was as AWESOME as i expected it to be. though she's a bad shooter xD but just her holding the gun was enough for me. natalia FTW!
as for horatio's plot, well... we might just get the old H back! as long as the kid doesn't go and DIE on us, that is. a show can only take so many marisols. when kyle snapped at him saying "i'm not your son!" i just wanted to hug him so badly :( poor H, he deserves so much better than what he's gotten. oh, and i guess we should be thankful horatio was working undercover when IT happened-- else the kid might've ended up called "laertes" or something like that. and i don't know about you, but i've had my fill of kids with strange names for this year, what with scorpius, and albus severus and hugo X_x
i almost swallowed my tongue when i saw david gallagher. oh my god, insert 7th heaven flashbacks here. jesus, i feel so old... O_o
that kyle kid was cute, too. not jailbait! i don't have to feel wretched for saying this xD funny how easily one actor can go from playing jack bauer's nephew to playing horatio caine's son. talk about good roles ^^
as for the plot itself, well, they keep overdoing the power of science. do you really expect me to believe that they found a whole, WORKABLE print after stretching that casing? it was compressed by an ENGINE, for god's sake. *glares at the writers* y'all just REALLY wanted to have ryan's name pop up in AFIS, and have us all go "GASP!", didn't you? WELL, I DIDN'T. it's way past unbelievable and as a woman of science i know there's a LIMIT. so, feeling pretty pissed off at you now. *glares some more*
also, they related the kidnapping to the death of that PO guy HOW? i think calleigh explained it to jake, but i must've missed that bit. because it felt like quite a stretch, to relate these two cases because "this guy, who just happens to be a parolee of the dead PO, had a similar MO-- who cares if he's back in jail. like, we ALL KNOW there are NO OTHER KIDNAPPERS IN MIAMI, nu-UH, so the cases must be related because i say so!" ...WTF.
hmmm, not taking into consideration these last two points, it was pretty decent for a season premiere. i mean, it won't top "lost son" anytime soon, but it was passable. better than "rio," at least, which i didn't like much because there was too much of the "BEST SHOW ON TV W00T! LET'S GO ALL 24 ON THESE BITCHES!" feeling put into it. i really liked horatio's plot, at least. it was almost like seasons two and three again.
if eric's only storyline this season is him being jealous of jake, i will be VERY pissed.

i also saw the season premiere of psych: "american duos." it wasn't as good as the first season stuff, but i laughed my ass off in several parts. as overdone as the american idol parodies are, i liked this one. lassy calling that junkie "baby"! i can die in peace now ;) and OMG, "zapato dulce"-- i guess you had to know spanish to get that one, but i'm still snickering xDDD and that was sam belmontes! yes, sam belmontes from CSI miami! the lab tech! talk about a coincidence. i figured it was cristian de la fuente only after i was done watching the episode, i always confuse him with santiago cabrera, for some reason. i had to go and look him up in IMDB to figure out where i had seen him before ^^;;;
