ahh saturdays... i slept until about 10:30 today and decided to read a bit. i'm desperately trying to finish up this trite, yet amusing murder mystery called Darkly Dreaming Dexter (Jeff Lindsay) so that i may dive into Cat's Eye (M.Atwood). I heard through the grapevine that kelly has picked it up and i want to keep my promise to re-read it. it is, after all, my favorite book of all time. After reading, i hopped online to take care of a few tasks and then started making my long-distance phone calls, marinating chicken, and straightening up the apartment. pretty mundane, yet somehow satisfying. matt is at work for a few more hours yet. unfortunately, we're too broke this week to embark on saturday "date night", so we will be cooking and taking in a movie at home. i had hoped to drag him over to my sister's house for some good Q.T. with my family, but alas, he seems to be pretty tired today. i'm not sure if i can talk him into making nice with the sister/brother-in-law/baby unit this evening. the rest of my afternoon will consist of more cleaning, more reading, and perhaps a shower for myself although i am enjoying my solo pajama party at the moment. i can't wait to have some friends around here to add some excitement to our lives. it will be nice to have some scabble opponents around on the weekends. no matter how blase my saturday may seem, i must say how thrilled i am NOT to be at work. i made the mistake of calling to check in today, which turned into a forty-five minute conversation w/my boss. lesson learned. this next week should be ok, though, since i only have to work three days. matt's birthday is on wednesday, so i took a couple of days off mid-week. yipee! i realize this entry is entirely pointless, so i'll sign off now and wish everyone a terrific day. love and such.
