Tacky cake decorations

Nov 30, 2010 14:32

I order cake decorations from two major suppliers: Decopac and Bakery Crafts. They supply me with everything from cake boards to 6lb boxes of sprinkles. The latter, Bakery Crafts, tends to sell a lot of really tacky stuff; items that are kind of dates, weird and lame. I snapped a couple of pictures with my phone while ordering the other day, so I could show you.

Would you put this on top of your wedding cake? Seriously, I would like to know. Would anyone put this on top of their wedding cake?

SO SEXAY!

I really want these. I want to decorate them. When I have spare monies (which is quite a ways away), I may ask BM if I can order them to buy them for myself. If this can happen, I will decorate them. Make them into aRt and send them to you guys as gifts. I am thinking paint, glitter, rhinestones nipples, etc. (I am %100 serious about this. It will happen someday.)

Would you want a rhinestone-encrusted almost naked dude or dudette with glitter hair?

I wonder if I could decorate them and score a spot on Regretsy!

The 1980's called and they want their cake boards back!

I know some folks still dig the ruffle cake boards for their weddings, but they are very dated. They were big in the 1980's and pretty common from 1950's until then. However, I had a dozen of these for the last 6 years, and just recently threw them all away because they were making my inventory look bad. No one wanted them. These days, it is all about the foil drum boards in various colors. People don't want the tack and the frills; they want simplicity.

I ordered this cake kit in for Tangled, but it kind of weirds me out the way her "hair" is all over the cake. I don't know, I am sure it well sell like crazy, I just find it odd.

plastic naked dudes, random crap, cake, cake decorating, photos
