The girls were entering the cafeteria, Annie and Britta were listening attentively to Shirley, when Shirley said with a bold tone and angry eyes -That girl will see some more sass coming if she keeps ruining my presentations.-
Annie and Britta laughed as they seated down for a snack.
-Have you seen the boys today? - asked Annie
- I think you mean Troy and Abed, because Jeff is a bit mature and Pierce, well…movies were in black and white when he was a boy- added Britta with a smile - But answering your question I haven't seen any of them today.
-Pierce was in my ‘Economy for the Business Owners' class but I lost sight of him after the presentation- said Shirley. But just in a few seconds they were joined by Troy and Abed, who were in midst of a heated argument.
-What's wrong with you guys? - said Britta.
-We are arguing about the best movie which plot is based in the American Civil War, and is very controversial- added Abed, with his usual lacking of expression
-Is because you are WRONG, the best movie is Major Dundee, it has Charlton Heston and Charlton is AWESOME- said Troy in an outburst. They were arguing when Pierce and Jeff joined the table.
-Hey Shirley, you know you really hurt Melody's feelings back there- said Pierce
- Who's Melody?- asked Shirley.
- The girl in the class whom you shouted and humiliated- Pierce added with fake anger
-Her name is Melanie, Pierce, and why are you so interested in her now? And she had it coming for interrupting my presentation- growled Shirley.
-She is a human being Shirley, be more compassionate. And she is HOT and blonde so of course I am interested. - And then Pierce added to Jeff - You should see the breast on this chick.
-Thanks Pierce, but I think I'll pass- as Jeff said that Shirley and Pierce continued arguing as Troy and abed were. When Jeff talked he finally raised his sight from his plate, he was sitting in front of Annie. He looked at her as Annie's eyes met his gaze. I haven't said a word to her today. All week has been kind of awkward. Maybe I should ask her something.

Oh my god, this is awkward, we can't even small talk. Very good Annie, ask him about his weekend, so that everybody knows he has been avoiding you since Monday. I shouldn't have texted him apologizing for mocking him, he is been weird ever since. And all he replied was "Don't worry about it".
Annie was staring at her plate again, and as Annie and Jeff were uncomfortably sharing Britta saw the whole thing.
-Come on guys, maybe we should go study now- added Annie a little loud so that everybody could hear her. They all got up and followed her to the study group as they continued arguing.
After twenty minutes of studying, the group quits.
-My phone is ringing- said Shirley as she left the room to pick it up.
- What was it? - asked Annie after Shirley returned with an angry and worried look on her face.
- Elijah and Jordan were playing in the backyard when they broke my neighbor's window. Dwayne is a crazy old man and André is not home, I should get home and fix this. - Shirley said goodbye as she grabbed her stuff and walked away.
-If Shirley is going, I am leaving too. I have to meet with someone- said Britta.
- You could just say that you have a date- mocked Jeff.
- Is not polite to keep a woman waiting Britta- mocked Pierce.
- If Britta is leaving, we should leave too- said Troy and Abed added- We should continue our study session with a reenactment of our favorite scenes from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
-That's not studying- said Annie - But maybe we should called it a day. - added when she saw everyone ready to leave.
As Britta and Pierce were leaving they headed to the parking lot
-Do you have any plans Jeff? You could join us and be Blondie. Troy is Tuco and I am Angel Eyes- said abed.
-Well, no thanks. I like that movie but I have plans that include a glorious scotch- smirked Jeff as he was heading to his car.
Troy and Abed were inside Annie's car as Annie was looking for her keys. Jeff got inside his Lexus, he was ready to leave, but he just sat there looking at Annie, thinking the awkward face will never end, but then Annie found her keys, got into her car and drove away.
Annie was already sitting at her desk while her classmates and friends started to arrive. After a couple of kisses and hellos, everyone was taking their usual spots in the classroom. Annie reached out her purple bag to look for her purple pen and the rest of stuff as she heard a voice close to her
- Hi Annie, you are, as usual, completely ready for the test- Jeff mocked with a sweet tone and added- how are you? - He was standing in front of her, holding a notebook and wearing some aviator sunglasses. He seemed taller than usual, and he was showing his usual confident smile.
-Good Morning Jeff, are you ready for the test? I bet you barely know the subject- Annie laughed shyly.
- Right as usual Milady, I am counting on my ‘Make it up as one goes along’ ability and on the things you explained yesterday- he said with a smirk as he sat down.
Annie yawned repeatedly, and Jeff asked. -Why so tired Milady? - What's up with Jeff? He is acting all confident and considerate again. And yesterday he was completely uncomfortable.
- I am exhausted, Troy and Abed were up all night reenacting movies and woke me up at three in the morning asking if I wanted to be Scarlet O'Hara- bickered Annie.
Jeff laughs were interrupted by Professor Cornwallis as the slammed the door and started handing out the tests.
After twenty minutes, he picks up the exams and started a regular class.
-If everyone thought you were leaving after the test, YOU ARE VERY WRONG INDEED- he said loudly with his English accent. -We are intended to cover history and history is very long, and tedious for some - added staring at some people who whined- Now, we will explore the Middle Ages, specially the Myths and Legends in the Medieval Period. Let's begin with the Arthurian Legend, as you might know King Arthur is a British leader who led the defense of Britain against Saxon invaders. But do any of you know who Guinevere was? -
- Guinevere was the Queen Consort of King Arthur, mostly known for her love affair with the knight Sir Lancelot- added Jeff in a beat, without thinking.
Silence in the classroom. Abed, Troy and Pierce were staring at Jeff as Britta and Shirley shared confused glances. Annie looked at Jeff with a concerned gaze and he realized he made a mistake. Annie looked to her desk and arranged nervously her pencil case; all she could think of was her confrontation with Jeff when she found out about this hidden side.
-I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU, YOU ARE DUNGEON MASTER. YOU SIT HERE EVERY FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND PLAY - Annie said loudly and laughing
-Calm down, Annie- his voice was nervous and startling. And then added- D& D is a strategic game for the masterminds, which requires team playing and imagination skills... - Jeff was trying to say as Annie interrupted him
-D&D? WHO are you? I mean, you, roleplaying medieval make believe. You, Jeff 'I am to cool to school' Winger- Annie had a perplex look on her face, her eyes were wide and she was mocking him with her entire expression.
-You wouldn't get it! Is more to it than just that...- he snapped.
Annie tried to mock again but she realized that Jeff was seriously offended.
-Yes, I like this game and I come and play every day. - He said firmly- I won't try to explain why, and I am a grown man. I would appreciate if you did not tell everyone on the study group- Jeff walked again to the study room and left her there.
When Annie came back to reality the classroom was almost empty. There was an assignment on Myths and Legends of the Medieval Period on the blackboard, and as she picked her stuff she noticed the spot next to her was empty.
As the teacher said 'You are free to leave' Jeff moved as fast as he could and left the room, he managed to move fast enough to avoid everyone from the study group from the classroom to the parking lot, as he was passing Greendale's main entrance he felt safe, he could get to his car and go home. He was in front of his car looking for his keys when he hears a voice saying:
-What is UP with you Winger?-
