I don't actually have much to say today. Just all the tiny details of the day that grow out of proportion when nothing much else is happening. knitting needle problem can be solved with drinking straws and rubber bands...
Pilfer some rubber bands from work and grab a handful of straws the next time you are left unwatched in front of a dispenser at the pub.
wrap rubber band around one end, poke end of knitting needle into other end, slide knitting off onto straw, and cap it with another rubber band.
Maccas straws are great for chunky knits.

I use coloured elastic bands.
You can get them at officeworks. They come in fluro colours.

And then you must remember to return them to the elastic band when you are finished? I've got quite the mess at the moment.

Noooo!
I'm not suggesting tidying up, I'm saying that I ut a different colour around each size, and then you know instantly when you are looking at a jumble of knitting parifinalia which needle is what.
I mark my regular needles with a nail polish band next to the knob.
By colout coding everything I can just chuck them all higgelty into their shoebox and not have to dig around when I need something...
I have organised being disorganised...
