Whatnot

I don't actually have much to say today. Just all the tiny details of the day that grow out of proportion when nothing much else is happening. Yesterday was the first day to reach 20C and coincided with the first day that they pumped heated air con into my office. Today its cold air and I'm freezing. No wonder so many people round here have come down with the flu.

I'm still settling into a new morning routine. And I hate change. I have to drive myself to my Nana's and catch the bus into town from there. This is ridiculous, I hear you say. It feels that way in the morning. Yesterday I was driving there in front of the bus I was to catch which meant I had to stand there for 15 extra minutes for the next one and got into town after 9am. This morning, I raced out of the house (last minute glance informed me that the dog used my dining room as a toilet, the bugger, and I didn't have time to clean it up, that awaits me joyfully for home time) and caught the earlier bus at 8.30 and this got me into town at 8.55 am (and to my desk later as the coffee queue was long). I refuse to catch the 8.15 am. It's good in the afternoon though because I can get off not too far from the city and drive home, and that's quicker than if I took the bus all the way out to my place. Plus I can listen to Triple J's hack. I'm a bus snob and don't want to catch certain busses.

How uninteresting am I? I can't even think of anything else to write here.

I'm working madly on the booties - I have like 7 different projects that I'm actively working on at once. *Finally* cracked the rollerskates problem - was using a crochet hook that was wayyyy too big. But the advantage of crochet over knitting is that you don't commit your hook to the whole project. So in theory, I can crochet say 12 different versions at once without being confined by the equipment. With knitting, I'm limited to the number of needles I have in the same size - for your reference, that means I usually have five sets of needles on the go with up to 3 versions of something on any one set (more than three and it gets a bit cramped). You have to pay attention of course to what pattern you're knitting on what.

Since the bf is away till Sunday, I commandeered the dining room table and have sorted out all the finished and packaged booties (and mittens and hats) in their sizings to work out what needs to be done in what sizes to not look embarrassing when I do the fair - all the ballet shoes sets are in newborn and everything else is in small. For no real reason other than I get bored easily. And on that, I have recently picked up 3 new pattern books with potential styles that can totally be funked up, I'm kinda fighting myself not to look at them as I know I will abandon any semblance of order that I may achieve over this weekend.

Oh yeah, my thesis. No progress on that yesterday.
