Seffie may be more than a bit prejudiced against Gil. Remember, for the past two years he's been trying very hard to find members of the Conspiracy and "terminate them with extreme prejudice." The terminated probably would include many members of the extended von Blitzengaard family.
(And then Tweedle arrived on the scene and killed off another bunch of them!)
I have the impression that Seffie and Gil being in some sort of alliance is a fairly recent development, most likely induced by her grandmother's machinations rather than by Seffie's love and admiration for Gil.

Agreed. From what we knew before this page, it sounded if the talks between both parties was some kind of truce or cease-fire, more than a meeting of like-minded groups. That, and placing Gil as the new Storm King, may just be a part of placating an aggressive force. However, now that Agatha has suddenly appeared on the scene again, the dynamic has changed. My feeling now is that what Seffie is planning to do is convince Agatha that Gil is completely insane and out of control and, for the good of Europe, he must be taken down by any means possible. I assume Seffie is hoping to use Agatha as a rallying point to convince the other powers still left to work together to take down a tyrant.
See, I told you the Foglios were going to make Gil the villain.

The missing element of your argument is the part where Xerxsephnia blames Agatha for Gil's temperament. If she is trying to convince Agatha of anything, I doubt blaming her for causing it would work very well.
There is one gap in the circle but there's a tree standing in the way. I think Seffie and Agatha are well and truly caught--unless, of course, Violetta's slight of hand can come in here.

(And who IS her grandmother, anyway?)

Or Violetta can aim her deer at that tree ?

That's ... actually a pretty good idea!

... if I had a deathray and wanted to make an opening in that circle, the tree would be my last choice of target!
