I see glory in your soul, it tastes so good darling

For every broken streetlight,
there are a million sparkling grains of sand
for every gutter
a mountain that touches heaven
for every disappointment
there are a thousand loves
for every infinite melancholy
a glimmer of harmonious solitude

the world is at equilibrium
steady and apathetic
none stronger, none weaker
no faith, no abstinence
nochildren, no innocence
no good, noevil
no morals, no values
just balance

for a world moving so slowly
why do we see it so fast?
do we care to reflect upn
its nature, or well being, or impending doom?

Do we actually care?
or are we
watching a worm
scraping across fiery asphalt
blind and unaware
that it will join the shriveled corpses
piled on top of
one another
in a genocide grave

a candle is burning
for the stranger i’ve yet to meet
burning a tunnel through my heart
burning
for questions, for confessions,
for boiling blood, for seered flesh
for agony, pain, strife
for deliverance, sanctity, beauty

the greatest connection
would simply be
to see this wavering flame
reflect in someone else’s eyes

they say eyes are the window
to the soul
but i believe
they are the front door
locked tightly
against the desolate and desperate
making false importance
from the passing days
I want a writer,
a singer, a shaper,
a believer, an apathetic.
I want someone who sees
ignorace, fear
insecurity
but kisses it away
to a place untouchable
I want a true friend
I want forgiveness
I want
eternity,
and i want to find it in
your eyes
through your unlocked door.

And you would be standing
in its frame
ready
to gather me into
unstoppable,
irreplaceable,
encompassing
truth.
