Summary: As Kara's rocketship hits Earth's atmo, the scent of burning asteroid awakens her.
Author's Notes: Takes place directly before Superman/Batman #8
The rocketship hurtled to Earth, finally reaching its destination after a detour of thirty odd years.
Pieces of the asteroid that the rocketship had been embedded in began to fall away one by one, hurtling towards Earth and landing in cities like Smallville, Park City, Leesburg, and Blue Valley, though a majority of them went directly towards Gotham City.
As the ship entered Earth's atmosphere, the young woman held in suspended animation inside the rocketship jerked her head. The thick, steamy, rancid smell of burning asteroid mixing with the coldness of Earth air filled her delicate nostrils, awaking her instantly. She sat up, not remembering much of anything except that she had lain in one position for a very long time.
The girl held her nose, the acrid stench of the flaming asteroid having hit atmo getting to her, but she found it difficult to breath. She tried pushing the door of her ship open, but it refused to do so, being closed in by thick, hard black rock. She pushed and she shoved and coughed, her sensitive nose starting to pick up all manners of smells as her ship hurtled towards Gotham City Harbor. She smelled meat and fog and salt water and the horrible smell of pollution which was foreign to her. Her panic only increased, but she could do nothing.
The last thing she smelled before hitting the water of the Gotham Harbor was the scent of the sea life teeming right beneath her.
