my what an hour can do

I had lunch with Anna Lynn today, one of my supervisors from the summer. I love that woman. In one hour at dhall she changed my entire perspective on things in my life right now, and I thank her for it. It's not worth going too far in depth, but just talking with her at lunch made me feel so much better about so many things, and ya know, I'm going to make it.

30 days til graduation and I can't wait. I'm ready to move on with my life, in whatever direction it may take me. The important thing is to make sure that whatever it is that I do is what I want to do, and is going to make me happy. It is after all my life, and no one else can make the decisions that are going to make me the happiest, except for me. At this point in my life I can make those decisions without worrying about other things. Yes, my parents' input is important and appreciated, but in the end, it is not their decision. It's important to be happy, and I plan on doing just that. I finally realized that you have to be happy with yourself, because there may come a time when that's all you'll have. I've also put my faith back exactly where it should be, and I should have been doing that more before now, but the important thing is that all is as it should be, and for that, I'm very grateful.

I have some amazing people in my life, and I can't forget that because of the few people that come in and out and try to mess things up. There are more important things in this world. No one has the right to make you feel bad about yourself, or treat you badly, especially when what they say has no basis.

On that note, before I ramble too much... a big thank you to Anna Lynn for being amazing and having such a fantastic conversation over lunch. You have to be happy with who you are and what you do, and the way that you react to things says a lot about the type of person you truly are. I know what kind of a person I am, and I'm not ashamed of it. You can love me or hate me, but I am who I am, and I don't hide that. I don't put on a facade, it's just me, as I am, take it or leave it.

The best things in life might not be free, a lot of them you really do have to work for. However, the simple things in life are free: flowers, the sky, the sun, the moon, the stars, a spring breeze, birds chirping... and if you let them be, the simple things in life can be some of the best things. Just a thought to leave you with.
