02x01
Okay, so is this episode supposed to be immediately after the conclusion of 01x21? I would’ve assumed we were skipping the summer, except there are yellow daisies all over town, so it looks like this is the next day??
I love that Rory is already planning the wedding before Lorelai has even decided if she’s going to get married! Rory really does want that traditional family situation in a lot of ways, doesn’t she?
Does it make me weird that I’ve quit skipping the intro song because I like listening to it? It always makes me think of how you nutjobs sang along to I every time we played an episode at the M&G! ;-)
Did anything ever happen with that Korean boy Lane met at the Chilton party? It seems like he would be a good deterrent to Lane being stuck in Korea.
Okay, there are 10 bazillion daisies all over town. That’s way more than 1,000. *snicker* They must’ve REALLY had fun decorating with the daisies!
Bwahahaha! Miss Patty has gathered up half the town and they’re shadowing Lorelai into Luke’s. *snort*
Luke’s reaction is quite interesting. He figured it out on his own, and he’s got a list ready for her of all the reason why it won’t work. Except he doesn’t present it to her that way - he just asks her where they’ll live and if she’ll stay at home and quit working, etc. Hehehe!
“Fine. He took it fine.” Aww, she didn’t WANT him to take it fine.
Aww, such a cute moment when Rory and Lorelai nonverbally communicate about the “Yes” response and start squeeing together! (Too bad it won’t last!)
*snicker* I love how Sookie’s staff is ready for emergency rescue at the drop of a hat. The lobster grabs her, and they run over with bandages immediately. Hehe!
Hehehehe! I’m laughing so hard at Jackson’s reaction to Lorelai getting married, that my kiddo is yelling from the other room wanting to know what’s so funny. How does one explain the panicked-my-girlfriend-wants-to-get-married reaction to a 14-year-old boy?
I love Lane’s taste in music. She’s sitting in her closet hide-a-way and listening to “I’ll be your mirror,” which Josh sings to the kids at night.
I’m having trouble taking notes cause I keep getting caught up in the episode. Lorelai panting and barking like a dog over an art-deco 1920s ring was very entertaining, though! I also love how she immediately puts Dean to work switching out the water bottle. Hehe!
It’s interesting what an instant dislike Rory’s grandpa took to Dean. He didn’t even let Dean say hello and he already hated him. Methinks someone is threatened by another man in Rory’s life. I suspect he also is afraid of Rory repeating any of the mistakes that Lorelai made.
Oh, god. It’s started again. They’ve got a plate full of twinkies, and suddenly I want a twinkie. It’s been YEARS since I’ve eaten a twinkie. But suddenly I remember exactly what they taste like, and I feel I should have one. Or several. Good thing there aren’t any in the house and there’s a thunderstorm going on to deter me from hoping in the van.
Yup, Lorelai agrees with me. Here dad is having flashbacks of her own youth when he saw Rory bring Dean in.
Dang, those twinkies look good.
OMG, that suitcase next to Lane has GOT to be something from a circus act. That is the biggest damn suitcase I’ve ever seen. And my brother-in-law brought back a MASSIVE suitcase for me from Korea. This could hold four of those monsters.
Oh, Sookie. Sweet, clumsy, hand-burning, oblivious Sookie. I can’t believe she called Emily without making sure first that Lorelai had told her. Lorelai probably intended to tell her parents that night before the fight broke out. But what a horrible way for Emily to find out that Lorelai was engaged. The look on Emily’s face is just sickening. She is so, so hurt.
Wow, it feels like that episode just whizzed by. I must now watch another one.
And I need to find a way to get a Twinkie. I swear I’m going to gain 20 lbs watching this show.
02x02:
I lurve the wedding veil made out of newspaper. They must’ve had so much fun on the set making it, and then putting it on her! And of COURSE Rory would start reading her wedding veil!
Did she just walk out of her house with that newspaper veil on still?
Oh, I see they’ve updated the title sequence with a few S2 clips.
Oh, good! Henry is still interested in Lane! And this explains a lot about why he hasn’t called. If he showed up in person I think Mrs. Kim would like him a lot more.
Oh, dear. Lorelai isn’t planning to tell them about the wedding immediately. Yikes. I’m betting she’s going to realize pretty quickly that she’s late to the game in that regard.
Okay, this FND is already getting off to a weird start. Rushed meal. Emily seems to want to get them out of there.
Aw, the scene with Richard and Rory was sweet. He needed that hug, but didn’t know how to initiate it.
Wow. What a horrible response to Lorelai’s announcement.
And wow, does Luke ever have a rant going about weddings!
Poor Lane! She’s really scared about this Korean trip. WTH are her parents thinking???
Man, the fates are aligned to keep Rory from leaving her house to build the house today! She’s running late, her mom wants to give her a sparkly hammer, Lane shows up, Dean shows up… what next?
“I can’t hang out or kick back! I need to find a retarded kid and teach him how to play softball!” Oh god, that’s awesome. I don’t know how they got away with using that line on the show, but that’s AWESOME.
Oooh, nice staging on that fight in front of the gazebo.
Again, got caught up in the show and quit taking notes. This fight between Emily and Lorelai is so emotional! They’re both crying by the end of it and just barely able to stand upright. What a mess.
Ah, and Lorelai has figured out that it was Sookie who spilled the beans. Sweet, oblivious Sookie. I appreciate the fact that she doesn’t tell Sookie what happened as a result of that, though. That was a good example of what a caring friend Lorelai is.
Bwahahahaha! Kirk and the megaphone, “Attention guests! The buffet line is clogging in sector B!” *snort* I bet that actor has a blast.
Okay, this wedding shower is GORGEOUS. But it’s killing me to think about how much work is going to be involved in giving all these gifts back.
Hehehe - Rory just startled Kirk with her knowledge of the Gazebo’s structural soundness.
Aww, Luke didn’t attend.
Hehehe - Lorelai just confiscated Kirk’s megaphone.
Okay, the scene with Lorelai going to Luke and asking him to come to her party makes me think about her problems with her parents. I know she really genuinely wants Luke there, but I wonder if part of it is that because her own family has refused to come, if she feels like her adopted family (which includes Luke) HAS to be there.
I love how Jackson’s convinced that Sookie is dropping hints about getting married, so he makes this major concession to move in with her, and she won’t quit laughing at him. Bwahahaha!
Aww, Luke came! And okay, this picture of him sitting on a bench with three little brides needs to be plastered everywhere. It would make an awesome LJ header.
Again, it’s good to see Lorelai sucking it up and trying to restore things with her mom. It’s no wonder that Lorelai has the mother/daughter role confused sometimes with Rory. It’s obviously confused with her own MOTHER! Emily should’ve been doing her best to make peace with Lorelai as soon as Lorelai was crying in her house. But instead Lorelai’s the one who had to go do it. *sigh*
Good ending, though.
