LJ Alternative

It doesn't sound like it'll be necessary, but I created accounts on InsaneJournal and JournalFen as alternates in case LJ disappears.

I found instructions HERE for transferring all my posts from LJ to those two journals, in case any of you want to try it.  The images and videos I often put in my posts don't copy over, and the LJ username links won'

*giggles* I think you're all crazy.

The one thing I did was archive my LJ with LJArchive. I have an IJ for icons (they have a lot for rpging that we don't here) but I HATE IJ. It's a pain in the BUTT.

But then - I'm not overly concerned that LJ will go down either, so maybe I'm just oblivious. I'm jandjsalmon over there too.... in case, you know, you ever want to visit my VERY boring IJ. ;)

I really can't imagine it'll be necessary, but hey, I guess it can't hurt to have a backup scenario in place!

I haven't taken the time to scroll around IJ and figure out the differences, but I did see there wasn't an easy way to create custom mood themes. Nor did I find an easy way to put in a pretty layout. So it definitely sounds like some of the differences would be pain-in-the-neck different!
