...and made up my own meme! ;)
Been having a day where I'm absolutely loving on Hamasaki Ayumi, so I decided to create a PV meme where I answered each question with a PV of Hamasaki's. yes this is a hamasaki pimp post plz to check her out! ♥
favorite pv = "Dearest" (2001)
The first Hamasaki song I ever heard. The first Hamasaki PV I ever saw. And still my favorite to this day. ♥
runners' up:
"NEXT LEVEL" (2009),
"M" (2000) least favorite pv = "Connected" (2002)
Definitely biased toward the PVs that feature Hamasaki herself. The animation in this one is cool, but I can't bring myself to care. XP
runners' up:
"Sunrise ~LOVE is ALL~" (2009),
"Sunset ~LOVE is ALL~" love the song, but don't care for the pv = "appears" (1999)
I love the majority of Hamasaki's PVs, but a handful of the early ones I really don't care for. This one is up there in particular because it's nice, but it's kind of blah and I like the song alone better.
don't care for the song, but love the pv = "Virgin Road" (2010)
This is not to say that I don't love the song, I do, but this PV is just OUTSTANDING. It doesn't even NEED the song, it's so awesome. *____* Totally a retelling of Bonnie and Clyde. *hee*
runners' up:
"Voyage" (2004) when you hear the song, you can't help but think of the pv = "Mirrocle World" (2008)
There is nothing quite like Hamasaki strutting through Paris in a long coat, beret and stilettos with a fierce look in her eye. ♥
plot actually fits the song pv = "my name's WOMEN" (2004)
The song is about asserting one's identity as a strong woman. Go figure, the PV does that too and in a totally badass way. ;)
pv with best costuming = "GREEN" (2008)
Ugh. I thought long and hard about this one, but when I rewatched this PV I couldn't think of any other that fit this category better. Gorgeous costuming with this PV that is set in 1920s/1930s China. *_*
sexiest pv = "SPARKLE" (2009)
Honestly, what makes this most sexy is the jarring frame at the beginning and the end of the PV. And honestly, latex + bold eye makeup (the latter which Hamasaki always sports *grin*). ;)
cutest pv = "Beautiful Fighters" (2006)
Ohmigod, this is so ADORABLE. ♥ The song is just poppy and catchy and I love the way everything is really just overdone and cutesy and yeah. ADORABLY DORKY. :)
runners' up:
"Angel's Song" (2003) angstiest pv = "Hanabi ~episode II~" (2003)
Hamasaki cries for five minutes, staring straight at the camera. It's kind of moving. :x
runners' up:
"LOVE ~Destiny~" (1999),
"HEAVEN" (2005) creepiest pv = "Sexy Little Things" (2010)
Hamasaki has quite a few of these creepy PVs, but I think this one takes the cake with the blood coming out of the electric wall outlet in the first ten seconds. o.o
runners' up:
"About You" (2004) most thoughtful pv = "Ourselves" (2003)
This PV makes me THINK. Ohmigod. I've done really detailed analysis of this one in particular. It's just fascinating on the idea of the tearing down/reconstruction of identity.
runners' up:
"Alterna" (2005),
"RAINBOW" (2003) most fun pv = "Greatful days" (2003)
Not really a favorite amongst fans, but I dunno. I just love the poppy sound and how much fun she seems to be having with the craziness. ^_^
runners up:
"BLUE BIRD" (2006) most badass pv: "Startin'" (2006)
Dude, she has a golden JACKHAMMER. And that's just the START. ;P
runners up:
"Ladies Night" (2006),
"Bold and Delicious" (2005) best dance pv = "Real Me" (2002)
Really, Hamasaki's first attempt at a dance PV and kind of the one that sticks with me when I think of her dancing. After all, it was a dancing robot factory! XD
best ballad pv = "Days" (2009)
So tender, so beautiful, so sad. ;_; It's just a really sweet PV that gets it right.
best rock pv = "Because of You" (2003)
It's not quite as rockish as the PVs that it won out over, but I love it when Hamasaki's rocking out with the other chicks on the rotating platform with her mohawk. XD And why yes, she is a whore in this PV. XD
runners up:
"Talkin' 2 Myself" (2007) best pv plot arc = "Kyo Ai" ("Glitter" + "fated" (2007))
I'm really partial to this one because I love that they used a Hong Kong actor as Hamasaki's love interest over these two PVs and the storyline totally plays out like an Asian drama like whoa. It's awesomely adorable and sad. :)
I dare you guys to do this meme with your favorite PVs. Don't restrain yourself to one artist! (I will eventually do one like this that's non-Hamasaki Ayumi because I love too much music. *grin*)
