Happy post Christmas (or Hannukah!) everyone :D I hope you all have had an absolutly scrummy time and eaten far too much and worn a lot of silly cracker hats, I know I have. Except Widget of coruse, who I just hope still has both feet attached! (Get well soon dear).
I had a lovely time with my family and the festivities, and managed to keep my crown as Queen of Pop Culture by falling asleep in front of Love Actually, dreaming of Transformers, cuddling my Ant & Dec book in one hand and cluthcing my tickets to see Jedward on the X Factor tour in the other. Aaaah, good times :) I always love Christmas though, and I've got Wassaling to look forward to in the New Year. Rember from last year? Where I ran out into the garden with bells on and hit some trees for a while? No? Well, I don't remember a lot of it to be fair :) Christmas Eve was also a big deal to us, because my Dad was brought up in Germany it's like the big day over there so we get to celebrate twice! And I spent quite a lot of it helping to run the children's nativity service at the church which was so much fun and they were so cute! I'm not religious, but I do live next door and love working with kids and dressing up as a donkey so it was GREAT. I love singing caroles, pity I'm tone deaf.
I was also most thrilled to get a little netbook, which is not only adorably sweet but also totally usefull because I've got to give my NHM laptop back in the new year to an MRes student. So now I can keep weeviling! ..And go on the magic box from my couch. Seeing as this one is called The Beast, I thought it only fitting I named the little red and glittery netbook Belle. I'm horribly tempted to install Base Game on it, and maybe Nightlife and Seasons or something.. Because it just feels wrong to have computer that doesn't have TS2 on! I'll try and resist though. I'm going on a mini holiday tomorrow for three days and Belle's coming with me, so we'll see how long I last out on that promise today! Nah, really though I'm going to take it and write up all the billions of things I need to in the evenings. My family and I are going to Center Parcs, which we love, and is this kind of nature and sports holiday village.. thing. All I know is I'm looking forward to teaching birds of prey thai chi :D
I finally ordered my new graphics card! I got Dragon Age: Origins as my Christmas game and The Beast can't really cope with it for the moment, so I got my arse in gear and scoured the net until I found something telling me what power supply I'd need for the card I wanted. So I ordered them both, and they should get here when we get back. Pretty things! Yay! I'm super excited. And desperate to start DA:O but I shall have to content myself today with questing away as my Dumer Assasin on Oblivion. I'm so glad I gave RPGs a chance, I really do enjoy them. Thanks Widget for convincing me during one of our many cider sessions! Aww, I miss everyone from them. The new students just don't get it when I start trying to toast "TO SHREWS!", the children..
AND DOCTOR WHO.
Anyway, once I get back I'm working solidly from the 31st to the 11th so I might not be around a great deal though I'm still hoping to fling out my chapter somewhere during that. But whenever I say things like that it never happens, so er, fingers crossed! Anyway, talk to you all sooooon and HAVE A LOVELY REST OF THE HOLDIAYS WHOOO!
