Want to hear something really lame? (Partially on our part for waiting so long to think to ask, but especially on the bank's part.) Apparently when John "lost" his atm card, he just left it in the ATM. Now, when we reported it missing, nothing about it being found was mentioned. The bank never contacted us to tell us they had his card. (It has been missing for close to a month.) So today when he went in to deposit his check, he asked about missing cards and was about to have it cancelled for good and get a new one issued (big pain in the butt). The bank teller said "did you ever ask us to check the box"? Apparently, when people leave their cards in the ATM, the bank just throws them into a box, doesn't contact anyone, doesn't note who's card it is anywhere, just waits for the person to walk in and ask.
Personally, I think this is lame. What do you think?
