End of the Year Thingy

Dec 30, 2005 14:03

To all my friends and family, near and far, close and distant, intimate and remote...

2005 was a challenging year, with predominantly positive outcomes.

January: While I didn't have to change jobs, the job I have was sold to an outsourcing company, Accenture. There have been many changes at work, but I continue to be employed and receive favorable reviews. John and I visited the Arctic (figuratively) with 1948 Signals.

March: John celebrated his 33rd birthday.

April: John and I visited Rockford Illinois (figuratively) with 1948 Signals.

May: Jeanne celebrated her 25th birthday and John and I saw our 2nd Wedding Anniversary. John and I visited Pennsylvania (figuratively and literally) with 1948 Signals. I bought a 2002 Taurus! Yay! A great, reliable car for a change.

July/August: Jeanne moved to Philly and then to Trenton to be closer to school. Sten Ole came to visit. Carl moved to Virginia to be closer to work. John and I visited Guam (figuratively) with 1948 Signals.
September: John and I visited the Washington DC (figuratively and literally) with 1948 Signals.

October: I tolerated my 48th birthday.

November: I was in a very successful production of Jane Eyre the musical while John climbed Mount Everest (figuratively) with 1948 Signals.

December: Dad had successful knee replacement surgery. Jeanne performed beautifully in her first semester of grad school Opera Scenes. Carl celebrated his 27th birthday. John and I went to see the Transiberian Orchestra. My entire family was together in Gettysburg for Christmas (except Carl who had to work). The day after Christmas Jeanne flew to Norway for a month long visit with Sten Ole.

Also this year, Mom had additional heart surgery and came through with flying colors. Carl got a great job with Comcast in Virginia and recently bought a car. It's been a good and year for him too. Lots of milestones met. My dear friend Wade lost his father, and is still battling an ongoing battle with his own health issues.

John and I have both been relatively healthy and happy. We are both looking forward to 2006 with high hopes of my continuing to perform on stage, both of us being involved with 1948 Signals, our 3rd Wedding Anniversary, my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary, the birth of yet another niece/nephew in January, various birthdays and other milestones for family and friends. We also might start looking for a house this year. I hear it will be a buyer's market soon.

Best wishes to all of you! I'd love to hear from you too.

Ginny
