I thought I had an interview this morning for a Federal government intership position, which sounded pretty spiffy. Nope. My counselor sent me the wrong job description. What I ended up interviewing for was a student-worker position with Minnesota WorkForce.
I am now officially employed. 15-20 hours a week, $11 something an hour, just enough to slide under the financial limit for staying on Disability, and I'll still be able to apply for internship positions elsewhere. I'll be starting either next Monday, or a week from then.
I'll be helping people with their resumes, finding resources for them, assorted office stuff, yada, yada. My site supervisor saw my experience and education at writing and editing and it was just down to the paperwork.
Yesterday, I drove out to
genevra's house. After getting slightly lost (not her directions, my own ditziness), she kindly fixed my wedding ring. If I bothered to examine it under a microscope, I may find the fixed spot, but I can't tell looking at it.
Tomorrow, we'll be driving down to Rochester to pick up my sister's mail and her air mattress, then on to Zion, Illinois. We'll stay on until Friday afternoon, then drive back. I talked to Steph yesterday. She sounded very tired, but glad we'll be coming over.
Yes, we'll be back in time to make it to
craftygeekette's wedding, so I guess I'll see a lot of you there. I may not have computer access for the next while, so I'll see you when I see you.
