Strictly Semi Final
I totally don't want Ricky to go through to the final (although I would FAR prefer a three couple final) because he is SO DULL and I have learnt NOTHING about his personality, or about Natalie's throughout this series, apart from that they would like to win.
Apparently Darcey is going to jive with Ian. I'm not sure what I think about that.
Pro Group thing: this is a perfect getting stuff out of the oven and pouring a drink dance. What terribly dull music. I am having a rhubarb and apple cobbler with custard, because I am POORLY and I deserve it.
James and Kristina have danced together a few times recently - I suppose with Brian and Ola busy, it makes sense. Weirdly, I really quite like it. James looks much less creepy with Kristina.
Ooh, they've all come out in different outfits. I thought they'd all be doing the same sort of dance together. I like Ali's AT dress. Ola appears to be wearing bits of string again.
Chris & Ola, rumba. OH I LOVE OLA! How has she never been like this in previous years? TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART! Woooo song! OMG that was awesome! I totally loved that, I completely bought into the performance of it. Not sure there were a huge amount of steps, I really wasn't aware of much beyond them together, they could have done anything for all I know. But I was totally blown away by the emotion and the performance. My score (after listening to the judges who said there weren't many steps, I suppose they're right) 8. Judges: 7/7/8/8/8)
Ali & Brian, Argentine Tango. I love how they've made her look - the dress and hair look great. OMG look at the back of her dress, that's amazing! It's so weird watching this and recognising some steps that I've been doing with Gary! I thought that was good - very smooth and sharp in the kicks, and the look between them was electric all the way through. My score: 9. Judges:8/8/9/8/9 - wtf, Alesha scores that the same as Chris's rumba? I loved Chris, but the technicality was nowhere NEAR as complex as Ali's AT.
Ricky & Natalie, waltz. Lol @ his trousers and their absurdly high waistband. THAT'S A LIFT! Surely that was a lift? This is very smooth and elegant and classy. I wish he wouldn't keep opening his mouth. And surely that was another lift? Her feet were totally off the floor. Meh, I was quite bored tbh, even though it was obviously technically very good. My score: 9. Judges - I imagine there will be tens here, from what they're saying. 9/9/10/9/10.
Chris & Ola, Argentine Tango. I really enjoyed it. Beautiful choreography, very commited performance, loooovely flicky kicks, they were totally together, very beautiful. My score: 9. Judges:8/8/9/9/8 I think my enjoyment of that was enhanced by having turned the volume up to TWENTY FIVE! (next door is playing thumpy thump music through the wall - HA, they are getting LOUD ballroom in return!)
Ali & Brian, American Smooth. OH HER ARMS are BEAUTIFUL! I wonder if her feet are hurting, she's got really low chunky heels on. Wow though, that was soooo beautiful and lovely. OH SHUT UP BRUCE! My score: TEN! Judges: 10/10/10/10/10 Wow! I am really pleased, but really surprised - I really thought they would be saving the all-tens for Ricky Nipple. Although I suppose he still could get them.
Ricky & Natalie, Argentine Tango. Urgh, I thought the split thing was really ugly and inappropriate. The first gouchos look a bit awkward too. Hm. Odd final lift too. Hm. I totally didn't get that. I suppose I was predisposed to not get that from my dislike of them, but... I didn't get it. I didn't see the passion and connection between them that Ola and Chris had. So he's going to get all tens too then I'm sure. My score: 9 OH LEN SHUT UP TELLING PEOPLE HOW TO VOTE! Judges: 9/10/10/10/10

SO - if the public puts them Ricky 3rd, Chris 1st, Ali 2nd (as I suspect they have been so far), then they will all be on 4 and Ricky will go. If they put Ricky 2nd then he'll have 5 and will go through, and whoever the public has in 3rd (probably Ali in that case) would leave. So Chris HAS to win the public vote to go through, Ali has to beat Ricky in the public vote to go through. I think Ricky is a very good dancer, but I find him very uninteresting and if I never see him dance again I don't care, and if I never see Ali or Chris dance again I'd be sad.
I have voted twice for Ali (and got one engaged).
Darcey and Ian: that was nice. I like the song, and her dress was really nice. I love her legs. I can't imagine Margot Fonteyn ever doing a jive, lol?
