Lat night I went to see Elvis Costello and the ASO at the FOX Theatre, and it was absolutely incredible. Not only did the ASO open the show with pices from Elvis's Jazz Dance interpretaion of a Mid Summer's Night Dream, but they also accompanied him on some of his greatest songs. The orchestral arrangments Elvis has written for his own music completely transforms it, but keeps unique his style. He also played some new songs, and some songs he has arranged with other artists. Ala in all the night was absolutely amazing. One because it started with dinner with my Mom, Grandma, Great Aunt, Cousin, and Ashely at the Spaghetti Factory. Dinner with my family is always fun, and I enjoy there company greatly. It was sort of an impromptu early Mother's Day celebration because they had all just seen Menopause the Musical. After dinner, Ashely and I walked back to the Fox for the show, and Ashley said she loved it.(She had never listened to Elvis before) Other than the two drunk women I shushed in front of us the concert was uninterrupted by people talking or even singing along because the music was so different than the original studio arrangement. After that Ash and I stopped by my co-worker Lori's house for a graduation party for her fiance, and then we came back to my house and watched SNL before going to bed. All in all it was fun.
Then this morning I woke up at 12:30, and gave my mom her mother's day present(Johnny Depp biography) which she loved, and now I am not doing much of anything other than laundry because my mom just wanted to stay in the house and relax for the day.
Happy mother's day to all of you that are, and have a wonderful end to your weekend.
