Oh no, no more snow!

Well let's see if this works since Chris set everything up for me to write in my Dreamwidth account and have it simultaneously post to Live Journal as well from my E-mail like I used to be able to do with Live journal.
It's been an interesting week with the big snow fall in Seattle. Still hasn't been the "snowpocolypse" or "Snowmagedon" they said it would be, but it is interesting that only this much snow can put our area into a state of emergency disaster that we need to call in the National Guard to take care of it. I mean we only have about five inches, and I measured it with my hand, of snow here and we freak out. The biggest problem was last night when a fine mist of icy sleet fell everywhere turning the snow into a sheet of ice. That caused more power outages and car accidents than anything and everyone will have to prepare for another possible night where it can happen again. Then once the thaw happens, which SHOULD start tomorrow, the excess water from rain on already snow laden trees can cause even more to topple creating even more risk of trees falling on power lines. It is amazing how other more snowy places can handle such things so easily and we in Seattle just can't. I saw an amusing post on one of my Facebook friend's walls that says it all. It said "Seattle has been cancelled until further notice". How true that is here!
It was also amusing to hear on Facebook when this snow started how many people living in my area were so happy and excited posting whenever a few flakes fell at how wonderful it was. Now only two days later, people are posting how much they want this over with. LOL! I must admit, I have to agree.
I myself got lost coming home from across the street from our own driveway where I went to take pictures of our snow covered house. Just a bit of veering coming back disoriented me and I freaked out. I had visions of someone finding my frozen corpse only twenty yards from my own front gate. Ok, well I doubt that would have happened, but it sure crossed my mind. Luckily Alex saw me wandering off course and came out to rescue me. LOL!
If you have a Dreamwidth account and wish to add me, I am ginger-biscuit there as well.
