Fun and frolics

I have generally been stupidly busy this last couple of months, with Various LARP stuff followed by Tom and Marinas wedding.

While none of it was that stressfull in its self the fact that this coming weekend will be my first free one in almost 2 months has ment ive been getting less and less chilled about stuff.

On the LARP side, maelstrom continues to be great, helped cater a treasure trap event with went well, but thier rules system is way too complicated for casual monstering, LT is still kinda stressfull as ive still not got to grips with it all yet, but i think im getting there, the plot stuff im fine with, its all the other bits of stuff and admin that is still causing me some problems.

Tom and marinas wedding was great. I think everyone had a nice time, it all looked amazing, and at the end of it Tom and Marina were married :-D
There were a few hicups and some stuff didnt go to plan, Spent most of friday and saturday morning trying to keep Tom from stress explosion, which we managed to avoid.
Once the wedding was done they both relaxed and seemed like they had an enjoyable reception.

There were many photos taken which hopefully I will ba able to blag copies of at somepoint.

I think plan for this weekend is something vaugly cultural on saturday afternoon possibly Ikon gallery and then some dancification at the academy on saturday evening (i havent had proper night out dacin in almost 2 months)

Need to work out what im doing weekend after that cos there are plans in place for jillies trip as kind of an amalgamated birthday do. But its Emmas hen/prewedding do that weekend, so need to see if i can wangle doing both.

quick Film reviews:

The ruins:

I was never going to be great, its about killer Ivy, he he. But appealed to two of my more shamefull film passions. Bad B movie horror and American teen horror that tries to have a twist.
And to be fair the ruins lived up to what i was expecting, despite its attempts to be serious, it a chessy horror. It fails to do anything overly original, you dont really engage with the characters, its follows the basic horror movie formula right down to the closing scene. In other words if your looking for a good film, its not worth it, if you want to sit and watch some cheesy horror its not a bad choice.

the happening:

I didnt think it was that bad, but as essablished above I like cheesy horror movies, where as Sarah wasnt overly impressed.

This film was kind of a cool idea but it was done poorly, again it has a killer plants motif (is that this summers theme?). But I found the characters unbeiliable and despite some nice characterastion in places generally they felt under developed. The plot was a nice idea, but its depection was a bit lacking in reality.
- The calm and ordered way everyone seemed to react to what was happening was pushing things somewhat.
- The people being chased by 'evil wind' just looked silly.
- The last third of the film lost its way somewhat and decended into running through countryside and encountering various 'crazy' houses.

Overall it was a bit weak and isnt something I would recomend.
