So yea, hello LJ land, I am still alive and kicking, apprently an absence of posts for a couple of months makes people worry (which is kinda touching).
Main reason I havent posted in ages is real life (tm) stress distracting me and then everytimei think about writing a post being put off by the sheer amount of catch up it would require.
So I have decided to miss large chunks out and bullet point some of it.
- Sarah lost her job due to being ill and ive had to help support her through last couple of months, as she already has significant debts at moment.
- She has to move out of her current place so this has included finding new place, rent and deposit money.
- Which on top of everything else has left me somewhat financially crippled.
- Hopefully by end of May/ begining of June we should be on slow road to recovery.
- However all this is making her understandably stressed and run down, which means she gets ill easier, so she is having to try really hard to keep going into work somedays.
- Which all together is huge amount of stress for me, even if its starting to look like I can just about get us throught the worst of it at the end of this month.
- I have also recently become LT plot rep for martial guilds. Which is something im glad to be doing cos it means I get to what im finding more and more fun at LT, writting and running plot (playing is less fun for me than it used to be, might just be lack of group tho).
- LT didnt decide this till couple of weeks before plot deadline for GEF, so there was much running round chasing stuff up trying to get on top of plot lines. Plus all the other stuff like PSPs, rumours etc that I hadnt really done before.
- Then there was the fact that Archers guild is kinda rebuilding its self so we have had to scrap most of thier old plots (one of which appears to be universally hated by anyone who encountered it), so even more running around there.
- To be fair, everyone involved has been great, Leon has been a star helping me with Armourers plot and stuff I hadnt done before. John Barton (sp) has been great for bouncing ideas around with, and Dave young has been cool about me asking silly questions and giving me some leeway on stuff.
- But timing sucked coming right when Real life became seriously stressfull, suddenly having all that as well, just made things even tougher and I did put as much time and effort into LT stuff as I would have liked, but RL comes first.
- Also in middle of all this I had microsoft training course, which ended on one of the LT plot deadlines and required me to do coursework which just added more stress and guilt to the mix.
- The 100% pass grade on the practical test was a real boost to be fair, but the coursework just dragged on and on.
- but that all sorted now.
- Unfortunatly all the otherstuff has ment Ive had to delay my plan of trying to get MCSA qualifed by end of June. Once things are lil less stressfull will go back to that tho.
- Helping Sarah find job (read spending hours at work applying for jobs online for her) and then distractions of everything else has ment I havent been looking for new job recently.
- This makes me kinda guilty cos I have been meaning to and was doing ok just after christmas, its not a big issue, i love my current job i just want more money.
- So restarted that in my usual fashion, by applying for something way out of my league for shits and giggles. :-)
- I am currently trying to work out logistics and the like for catering this treasure trap event up in the lakes, which is more stress.
- There is whole bunch of stuff I should probably be doing for Maelstrom but just dont have enough serious thinkalation left at moment. Which I feel kinda bad about not doing.
- Im bit worried about being Toms best man and how all that will go.
So yea all in all its not been a fantastic few months, but me and Sarah are still together and things are looking up.
- Finaces are turning themsleves round slowly now she has job.
- I think I will feel a lot better about being plot rep after GEF (presuming its not a disaster)
- Once ive got through June, cos im serious busy every weekend from now till around the 23rd, I am going to start back on courses and job hunting with a bit more enthusiasm.
Quick film round up-
Iron man - Pretty CGI, dodgy plot in places, Saved by robert downey Jr.
In bruges - Excellent film, really well written and acted and someone karate chops a midget.
Doomsday - Awfull, awfull film. Started off kinda promising, esspecially when it became apparent they had used 4 of the 5 strongest actors from dog soliders as supporting cast. Went down hill from there, plot became laughable and pointless and it ended up as a bad mad max wannabe.
In vegas - Was actually surprissingly fun, better than i was expecting if very predicatble.
