Since the cost of living is so F***ing outrageous here... And the cost of education for hairdressing is retarded from me to pay considering the partial education I need... I'm thinking I will take the offer to just move to Cali. If my friend here is willing to put up 25k to pay for school here, he would be more than happy to put up less than 10k to help me get grounded there.
I'm not crazy... I don't think... I can pay for a scooter outright - so I have wheels. I can pay at least 6 months in advance on a place, so I can feel stable... I can have no stress to demotivate me to get a job - which I'm willing to do even if it's not hairstyling, right away. It's seeming like an almost perfect idea EXCEPT...
I have outstanding debt!! I've been gone like 4 years. The biggest chuck is to the governement - so I KNOW my wages will get garnished, my credit will be fucked, and crawling out of that mess may be stickier than I know. Like, how to get a bank account without losing all the money to the debtors? How to get an approval on a place with that credit report (though that can be got around I'm sure!)? How to get HIRED if they notice I'll be garnished?
So - if I get these questions resolved (which I think can be) and I get some word (from the locals who know!) about where to plop my ass when I arrive, and how to negotiate the necessities... then I'm planning my trip home!
I'll rock up to Shanghai for a visit, then on to LA, and everything else gets shipped to the USA. I can't head back to that militant hellhole without seeing my adopted home one more time! And yes, I expect it will feel more militant than what I've been experience, a laugh for fools who fear the Chinese Reds! Wow, christmas in the states... might I even get to go home to be with family if that's the case?
