It'd been a while since the last time I watched an action hkmovie... until last night. It came back to me the reason why I enjoy them so much: hot cops fighting bad guys.
And for hot cops I mean:
Nicholas Tse ;)
There aren't many options left for original plots in action hk movies, but I have enough if it covers the premise above, and if there are good fighting and action scenes and here we get plenty... and very well done.
Anyway, Invisible Target tells the story of Chan Chun (Tse), Fong Yik-Wei (Shawn Yue) with a little help of Wai King-Ho (Jaycee Chang). The three of them are cops, the three of them kick-a**** and the three of them get theirs kick** too. There is a very bad guy played (nicely in his evilness) by Wu Jing.
Our three cops have their reasons for wanting (badly) to get Wu Jing's character and his gang. The bad guys orchestated a robbery but didn't get the money because somebody betrayed them. Now they came back for him and to get their money back. Chan, Fong and Wai will do their best to get them.
Chan Chun (Nic Tse) lost his fiance in the robbery.
Fong (Shawn Yue) is a bad tempered cop that does everything in his hands to close a case.
Wai (Jaycee Chang, Jackie's son) plays a young cop who only thinks in doing what a cop has to do, as his older brother did until he disappeared working undercover.
Chan and Bad Guy's first encounter.
After the first time fighting Bad Guy both Fong...
... and Chan end paying a visit to hospital. There, they learn that Wai may have know something about where to find Bad Guy and his gang.
He doesn't but his brother (who has disappeared) was undercover in that gang.
They can't talk for too long since it's fighting time in that bar.
The three ends in Wai's house a bit sore. Here Wai's grandma finds them while they treat each others injuries (love this scene!)
Somebody involved in the robbery didn't die but ended in a mental institution. Our three cops pay him a visit... Chan tried getting information out of him...
Fong tries too...
...Bad Guy tries too.
They have their second encounter with Bad Guy and his gang. Chan explains his reasons why he wants to get them behind bars (or worse, really) so badly.
Chan and Fong ends cuffed to a bomb and attending a meeting with the secret guy who betrayed Bad Guy and has his money.
Chan and Fong aren't too happy about it. But sure look hot.
They find out that mystery man is a cop.
As they get in the middle of another investigation at the same time they're dealing with an old one and are suspect of a cop's death, they're interrogated.
After the final encounter with Bad Guy, they end quite beaten up but they are the good guys...
... and even dirty and bruised look pretty hot.
If you like action movies from HK (not necessarily martial arts, which I am not very fond of anyway) you should check this movie out and if you like Nicholas Tse or Shawn Yue, it's a must!
