Another round of the Color Meme...
In case you somehow missed it, the rules are simple: Comment and I will assign you a colour. You will then list ten things of that colour that you love (in your own journal).
nanaeanaven gave me green. So here goes...
Green is actually my favorite color.
- Specifically my favorite shade is the color of hickory leaves in spring. It's cool and light and lovely. When I was a kid e lived on a large suburban lot that had lots of hickory trees on it. I remember looking up through the branches, watching the golden light filter through the green of the leaves. An image too lovely to ever forget.
- Rosebushes. It's not just the blooms that are lovely. So are the elegantly pointed leaves and the prickly thorns. Roses are elegant and graceful or wild and untamed, richly green and alive.
- My eyes. No the aren't perfectly green, but green is the overall effect. Most of us have points of our appearance we'd like to change or that we find boring. I like my eyes.
- My composition notebook. I have a classic composition notebook that holds several months worth of scribbling. It's got the standard granite-like black speckles over a background of green. I think it's nifty
- Pistachio ice cream. It's been a while since I've had some, but I love it.
- Granny Smith Apples. Firm, sweet, and tart, they make the best desserts. I like to leave the peels on when I make pies.
- Green vegetables. Spinach, broccoli, cabbbage, collards, lettuce...I like them and as far as I can remember, I always have. And I'm so happy that Smallspawn seems to share my like of most things green. He'll actually steal broccoli right off my plate!
- Guacamole. I've had a serious craving for things like burritos, fajitas, and quesadillas throughout my last pregnancy and my taste switched from queso to go with my chips to guacamole. Green, cool., and creamy...yum.
- Green clothes. Both my boys share my fondness for green, so between the three of us, we have a fair collection of green. In fact, I went a little overboard with my last online shopping binge and bought at three green tops for work.
- Green eyed characters. I'm a sucker for a pair of green eyes. Top of the current list are Damian and Micah of the Anita Blake universe. Extra points for the kitty-cat eyes. LOL.
