Two Memes, One post.  First meme up is:

Comment and I will assign you a colour. You will then list ten things of that colour that you love (in your own journal).  -- Nicked from dazzledfirestar and others.

Daz gave me "Silver."  Not what I expected, so it took me a little thought to come up with my answers.  Here they are in no particular order:
  1. My class ring.  My high school class ring.  I remember that I was shocked that my cheapskate parents didn't balk at paying for this unneccessary bit of frippery.  I designed my own ring from the options available instead of taking the prepackaged one.  I chose a silver toned metal they called "Celestrium."  It has the classic Drama and Comedy faces on one side with my graduation date (1991) and the face of a panther on the other side with my actual name "Ginevra" on the other.  The stone in the center is a white spinel with a silver gilt backing and has the name of my high school running around it.  "Lakeside High School."  The panther was our mascot.  Inside it has my maiden name engraved.  Most of my school years were spent in either Hell or Limbo, but the three I spent at Lakeside were actually worth remembering.  Academics and talent were respected and valued -- I actually participated in Drama Club, Latin Club, and the Dance Ensemble, believe it or not.  I wear this one of a kind ring every day.
  2. My wedding band.  It's a simple white gold band.  I'd feel guily wearing the same ring for my second marriage, but I bought both wedding bands for the first one.  So it's mine and if I got a new one, it would probably be identical.  (The ex kept his wedding band, which was a much bigger hunk of precious metal -- big hands.)  I didn't buy my current hubby a ring because he cant really wear one with the way his hands are.
  3. My silver pentacle.  It's made to look like a stylized rose and is subtle enough to wear openly on almost any occasion.  It was a gift from my hubby and while I don't wear it all the time, I love it.
  4. The chain for my pentacle.  It was a gift from hubby's mother, chosen to go with the pentacle.  It's heavy enough not to look odd with such a large pendant, nor does it get tangled on itself or in my hair like I've had with other chains.  It's not so heavy that it looks masculine, either.  And it's just the right length.  I can either wear the pendant in the open or tuck it into the neckline of most of my tops.  Perfect.
  5. My mother's hair.  When she lets the natural color come through, her hair is streaked with a beautiful shade of silver.  Her hair looks the way women intend for it to look when they pay the big bucks to have it frosted.  I always hoped my grey would come in the same way, but so far it's pretty patchy.  Sigh...
  6. Moonlight.  I love the way the moon's light paints the world in shades of grey and silver.
  7. Quicksilver.  Because he's all cool and stuff.  Not my absolute favorite Marvel character, but he has a certain charm.  I probably know him best as the XMen Evolution version.
  8. Hershey's kisses.  Pretty silver packages with nummy chocolate inside.  What's not to love?
  9. My pewter bracelet.  It's an old, cuff style bracelet with my old initials (pre-marriage) on it.  I gave matching bracelets to my two best friends way back when.  I've lost touch with them, but I have some good memories.
  10. Silver wrapping paper.  Good for almost any occaision.  Christmas, weddings, birthdays...Clean and festive.  Simple.

Andladydeathfaerie gave me yellow. Yellow. One of my least favorite colors. Ugh.  Let me think...
  1. Daffodils.  I've always loved daffodils.  Bright and cheery, they just pop up year after year with little effort needed.  One day I'll have a place of my own to plant what I want and you better believe I'll be planting daffodils.
  2. Pineapple.  I love pineapple.  Sweet, tangy, juicy...yup.  Love it.
  3. Lemonade.  One of the few sugar free drinks you can find in fast food joints.  And not in all of them.  But it's good.  Especially the stuff at Chik-fil-a.
  4. Fried egg yolks.  Everyone knows it's the sunny, yellow yolks that give fried eggs all their flavor.  Tastes especially good when sopped up with buttery toast.
  5. Butter!  Who can forget the yummy goodness that is butter?  I'm starting to sense a theme here...
  6. Honey.,,Sweet, thick, rich and golden.
  7. Firelight/candlelight.  It makes everything seem rich and homey.  Flattering to almost anyone and makes things seem so intimate.
  8. Dandylions.  So unfair to call them weeds.  Bright and sunny.  They bring flashes of color to boring old green lawns.  They are even edible, though I don't think I've tried them.  I think they are pretty and don't get this obsession with annihilating them.
  9. Yellow roses.  I love roses of any kind.  Even yellow ones.  I prefer other colors, true.  But yellow is lovely, too.
  10. Honeysuckle.  Sweet and fragile looking.  Honey suckle vines pop up everywhere.  The blossoms hold tiny drops of sweet nectar just waiting for you to come along.  They fill the air with a sweet scent.  Lovely.

And the second meme is:  Leave a comment asking for five questions and I will provide them, then you answer in your own LJ post.  (Paraphrased and nicked from several members of my fLIst.)

First up is dazzledfirestar who gave me these:
1. What girly things are you looking forward to doing with tinyspawn the most?  Hmm...I'm not a very girly girl, so I don't have a big list of girly things I've been fantazing about doing with her.  I think the one thing I thing of most is helping her do her hair.  My mother never had any interest in helping me with my hair.  Any time I braided my hair or wore it in pigtails, people would ask if my mother helped me and I'd have to say no.  Kind of rubbed my nose in the fact that other mothers spent time fussing over their little girls' hair.  But not mine...

2. If you could only have one muse per fandom, who would you choose from each of your main sandboxes?  Ouch.  I may pay for answering this one.  For Marvel in all its incarnations, it would have to be Remy.  For Anita Blake, it's Jason Schuyler, the werewolf.  And for Merry Gentry, it has to be Kitto -- which I can't really explain.  He just makes me want to take him home and keep him safe.  LOL.  I've flirted with other potential muses in other fandoms, but these three are probably permanent residents of my brain pan.  Hmm...If I go all the way back to my Gargoyles days....if anyone was a potential muse, it was probably Demona.  I love a good villain.

3. What sort of AU would you like to see occur in the Mutant Sue Universe next?  Oy!  You ask the hard ones.  You ladies have already taken our Mutant Sues to places I'd never have come up with on my own.  I love it that they speak so strongly to you.  After some hard thought...I think the Old West Gold Rush era.  Hard nosed miners.  Robber barons.  Wiley brothel madames...  Not that I'm an expert on the era, but it has some appeal.  Or else another dark AU.  Maybe one where Xaviers is a "Mutant Reeducation Center" and the Prof and senior XMen are in charge of "educating" younger mutants to be of use to the powers that be.

4. All of your sues meet up in a bar, how does the evening progress? Hmm...I suspect Ruby and Morgan/Faye would wind up in a not-so-subtle competition to garner all the male attention in the bar for themselves.  I think Minette would hang around the edges, debating between trying to interfere and wanting to stay out of it.  My Muse Cruise self would sit on the front lines and enjoy the show.  Maybe take a few mental notes.  Eventually the competition would probably get out of hand, either getting the girls kicked out or turning into a bar-wide orgy.  Depending on what the average attractiveness of the bar patrons, my Muse self would probably slink out just before the shit hits the fan.  Probably taking Minette with her.  Or Minette's arduer might rise under the strain and all hell would break loose.  LOL...

5. If you (actual you) got sucked into a fandom a la MSV and you remained as yourself (no add ons/extra powers/whatevers), where would you like to go?  None of us have gone there yet...But if I were just going to be plain old me, I think I'd like to go to the Dresden-verse.  Kitchen witches and hedge wizards have a place in that reality and aren't just cannon fodder.  I wouldn't be Council material and I really don't think I'd want to be.  But I was also born in the Chicago area and it would be cool to explore not just the universe, but the city I was born in, as I don't remember it at all.  Dresden would respect me for my non-magical talents and wouldn't think I was a joke as a member of the larger magical community.  Not a bad fit.  My second choice would be the Merry Gentry universe for similar reasons.  The fairy mounds are located in Illinois and humans have an important role in that universe.  Being only marginally magical or not at all wouldn't necessarily sideline me there.

From ladydeathfaerie come these:

1.) fire or ice? which do you prefer? Fire. I’d rather be hot than cold, I think. Unless you’re talking death. I think I’d rather freeze to death than burn. Of course, I’d rather avoid both…

2.) what is the maximum number of Muses you would consider playing host to? About three less than I currently have. LOL. But since I’ve already crossed that line…Um…how about a baker’s dozen. Any more than that and I may as well stock up on I-love-me jackets and rubber wall coverings.

3.) which of the Virus fics do you think is your favorite and why? Beyond Death. I’m a bit too self-conscious to name any of the Mutant Sue fics, I think. And I feel almost as invested in BD as I do Mutant Sue. But I’m enjoying all of them, so it’s really just a matter of degrees.

4.) of all the universes i've introduced you to, which one do you think is your favorite and why? I think it has to be the Anita Blake universe. This universe combines some of my favorite genres, mixing mystery and police work with vampires, lycanthropes, and a variety of supernatural creatures. The universe and its characters are addictive. While LKH isn’t as consistent as we might like, when she’s on, she’s really on.

5.) when you announced you were looking for a beta, i offered my services even though i had no practical knowledge in the fandom. what was it that convinced you to agree and take me on? (yes. totally self-serving) When I was whining about needing a beta, I really didn’t expect anyone to volunteer. You took me by surprise. You were so sincere, offering me references and samples of your work. And you were good. Really good. I’d been around enough by then to know how hard it could be to find any beta at all, much less a good one. I’d have been stupid to turn you down. I’m so glad I didn’t. It’s been a hell of a lot of fun.

And finally, from samuraiter , I have these:

1.) I will ask the same question that I put to LDF: Since Leon and I are planning a Muse Cruise ™ story involving a golf outing for the Muses, would any of yours be interested in joining up? :-) Just for the Muses? Or for the Muses and their writers? I think Jason and Remy would go just for the opportunity to needle me over my dislike of golf. Jean Claude wouldn’t go unless the event took place at night, though his idea of golf attire might be entertaining. I think Nathaniel would make for a charmingly clueless caddy. Edward might go if LDF or I went, worried that someone might take a shot at one of us out there in the open. Or he might just enjoy needling me, too. Kitto wouldn’t go unless forced. He’s a bit agoraphobic.

2.) Also from what I asked LDF: Favorite Sue character that you have created so far? I think Morgan and her alter ego, Faye, have to be my favorite. Between my MSV and all the spin offs, they’ve grown far beyond my original ideas and taken on a life of their own.

3.) How is Tinyspawn holding up so far? Is she Evilspawn yet? Tinyspawn is doing well. She’s a bit ahead of the curve at this point for weight gain. But she’s running me ragged, keeping me up at all hours of the night. She’s more demanding than the boys were, wanting to be held all the time.  And she’s not above feigning hunger to get it. So for two weeks old - yeah. Evil.

4.) What are you feeling inspired to write as of late? Anything? I’m not feeling all that inspired right now. Lack of sleep, mostly. I have been trying to pick a little at Muse on the Loose when Tinyspawn allows. I do have a Micah and Minette vignette on ice that I haven’t yet decided whether I’ll share. I just needed to get it out of my head.

5.) Which of your Muses is most likely to wear sunglasses at night? Jason. It’s so like him. Not to mention he’s a stripper and chances are good that one of his costumes includes sunglasses. ;)

Ugh. LJ hates me and my laptop. I don't know why it's doing funny things with my cuts or how to fix it.  It also kept eating parts of my post. Sorry.
