'Tis New Year's Eve on the Jewish calendar. Tonight starts Rosh Hashannah. So shana tova. Wishes for a sweet, healthy, happy year to you all.
It is my hope to defend the last two chapters of my 'academic work' in December. It is also my hope to promote good healthy habits for myself including regular exercise. And of course, I pray for good health for T-Rex. It's his birthday in a few days! There will be much baking for him. :)
As for October, my new job has been wonderful. And someone at work proposed a door decorating contest. So today I went to Party City and picked up a few items. I plan to bake for the staff as well. I'm thinking pumpkin spice donuts with maple glaze, apple cider caramels, and a decorative Swiss Roll. Chocolate with orange-colored cream and baked on perimeter art like bats and spiderwebs or something. We'll see how much time I have, as that will be the most labor intensive.
Also, a teeny garden update. The large tomato plants are still fruiting. And the bell peppers have shot up with the cooler weather. I've got peppers galore - to make up for the dearth of fruit all summer. And my basil plants have turned into trees. Not sure how long it will all last, but content for now to still ahve stuff growing as the season winds down. Here are two peppers I picked this morning, and a slightly oddly shaped tomato from yesterday, paired with a gay bagel. ^__^ (It's a plain bagel with skillfully applied dye).
So, here's to casting off sins and regrets, and looking forward to doing our best and hoping for the best in the coming year.
