Dinner party with mah Jew Creeeeewwww!
We're coming up on a bank holiday Monday! :flails:
So I'm having a dinner party Sunday and my 'Jew Crew' friends (as they know I've affectionately nicknamed them) are coming round! As my kitchen is not kosher, my friend DR has guided me in the kosherishificization of my kitchen. Boy am I ever pleased to have purchased new pots last year before my CSA began, because now I know exactly what I've made in the new pots and also I've kept separate chopping boards for animal and vegetable/fruit.
My menu shall be:
Jamie Oliver's English Onion Soup (yes elrina753, there WILL be leftovers!)
Grilled Eggplant with tomato and garlicky topping (see icon!)
Risotto (still trying to decide on what veg to use)
Roasted carrots and beets
Choice of Chocolate Mousse or Sour Cherry Sorbet
I'm debating substituting halumi for the cheddar in the soup. Thoughts, anyone? Suggestions for the risotto? I found a lovely recipe for Risotto with Leeks, shiitake mushrooms and truffle oil. But I'm worried it might be too heavy.
