I'm NOLA-bound and I can't wait. This morning I slept until 11am, that was about 11 hours. Clearly I need a rest.
To be fair, I did have a busy day on Saturday.
pomona513,
vraidaae and I went to the HP exhibit with TGTSNBN. We spent an inordinate amount of time examining Snape's robes.
erratic0101 did an amazing job of organizing, considering there were well over 60 people in our group.
Alas, I did not COSplay on Saturday. I woke up late and it was raining and well, I just suck. But I did buy a new wand! To my surprise, the
Bellatrix LeStrange wand (second wand) called to me. I needed a one one, as the first was accidentally snapped in two during my little
Snape/Homione COSplay photo adventure at Infinitus. Load of others from TGTSNBN did COSplay, though. And so it was fun to be around and among them at least.
But I digress.
erratic0101 told me about the time he took the NYC group along with the Boston HP group when the exhibit was in Boston, and there was a moment in front of Lucius Malfoy's costume when everyone paused to notice
alabastard was wearing the same outfit. I wish I'd been there for that. ^_^ The exhibit itself was terrific. To see the outfits and some of the movie artefacts up close and personal is a bit special. Having drooled over Snape's robes for so long, I did get a twinge of the old feeling. The scuffed up shoes interested me too for some reason. You could almost feel Rickman's presence in the robes and shoes the way they were modeled. I may no longer be a Rickmaniac, but it's just so iconic that something of the old thrill remains deep within.
Unfortunately, photography is not allowed. But
vraidaae did manage to sneak a stroke of Snape's robes while we hovered! And she claims to not be a slytherin. Puh.
I am contemplating going back on a quieter day and taking the audio tour, so I can hear what the costume designers and others involved in production have to say.
Today I did a bit of prepping for my trip and went to a yoga class at a place near my house that I've been meaning to check out for awhile.
drfardook purchased a new mat for me, maybe two months ago? We never got round to doing any yoga together, but at least I finally managed to crack open the new mat and take it to class. I am contemplating getting a new student membership and going twice a week. It felt good to move and challenge myself physically. When I do yoga at home, I don't hold the poses nearly as long as when someone else is guiding me.
Now I can't believe it's after midnight already. Off to bed I must go!
