Or, why you shouldn't give Gin access to science.

I've had my very first lecture of the academic year -- indeed, of my university life -- and it was "The Scientific Revolution." With a title like that, you'd assume it's looking at, well, only science stuff.

But on the very first handout I was presented with one very surprising word...

...magic.

Seriously, magic is a part of the SCIENCE module I've chosen as an elective. "What is this I don't even--!" indeed. Immediately, in my favourite purple pen, it gained an annotation of "alchemic lulz?!", with the 'business' black pen joining it not five minutes later: "possible essay area".

It Got Worse Better! In the actual lecture itself, alchemy was mentioned. In fact, we may even end up touching on the subject matter. OMGWHATISTHISIDON'TEVEN--! Aristotelian worldviews, alchemy, magic? (Even if we have to return to the boring conventional stuff eventually?)

Why didn't I choose this as my degree? Why?! *sobs*

/end melodrama

In all seriousness, though, this is utterly brilliant. So much of the stuff here -- I've already encountered it, in some form or another, and usually through books (read: Shakespeare). Then there's the whole potential for alchemic musings thing. Have to go check out the university library, see if they have anything in there! :3

In other news... The first chapter of Rising Signs, my 5D's multichapter, has recently been posted. Should you wish you can find it here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6348026/1/Rising_Signs    However, I'll probably be cross-posting all my fanfiction over here in the not-too-distant future, just to make sure it's completely safe.

Gin, signing out! English Literature has a hard act to follow...
