Today was cool.
We went out to lunch at this little patio restaurant called The Cameo. None of us had to pay; my mom and dad told us to go eat there on their tab. Schwing!
I went to Chloe's coffee shop again today, since she was working. Chloe made me this awesome italian soda that was a cream orange soda flavor. MMM. I crocheted a little there before looking at some antique jewelry in the next room. I love antique jewelry, especially rings. There's a really nice emerald ring at this antique shop, but I don't think its my size. Pity. Perhaps tomorrow I'll try it on anyway.
Chloe's coffee shop is a bookstore with an antique shop adjacent and attachted to it, for those of you who were wondering how I went from italian soda to antiques.
After that, Mark dropped me off at the Rose Gardens. I had a most delightful time taking pictures of the roses close up. It's a hobby of mine to take close up pics of flowers. There were other fantastic photo ops such as a clearing in the trees showing the slightly ominous Mt, Hood on the horizon.
What's crazy about having Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Hood soo obvious in the background of the city, is that on a cloudy day, you cannot see them. If it stays cloudy for awhile, and then the clouds disperse, all of a sudden there the mountains are and its like you forgot they were there...just hiding and waiting for the clouds to go.
My first day in Portland was like that. I had NO IDEA how large the mountains actually looked from Chloe and Mark's apartment. I was thinking you would just be able to make them out in the distance...but BAM! They were there on Monday when we took our trip to the bins, and I almost peed myself in astonishment.
On that note, I'm crashing. One last day in Portland, and I better milk it for all its worth. This just may be the first and last time I'm ever out here...did I mention Chloe and Mark are moving to Glasgow near the end of the year?
