it's so hard to believe my mom is gone. just a few months ago i took her to the Salvation Army and we were shopping together for a couple of hours. People keep asking how I'm doing, and I wonder what I'm supposed to say. "Well, you know, my mom died three days ago - just doing peachy"? I understand they're trying to show they care, but I much prefer the people who just outright say: "I am so sorry for your loss

I am glad you're getting to know Jeanne and Phil. They are both so amazing and have such a great capacity for love. I feel lucky to have them both in my life and am so happy they're in yours now, too
