Yafot Wellness @ Dempsey: Experiencing DeepCell Body Treatment & Triple Oxygen Facial Treatment

Hey people!

This month has been intense for me as I was moving house, and you would be surprised by the number of things you would need to do to get your house in order.

Now that I've settled into my home, I could finally find time to pamper myself at Yafot Wellness.

Yafot Wellness is a wellness centre founded by Mr Sonny Kwok, who was inspired to help customers achieve holistic wellness in their lives.

'Yafot' stands for 'becoming beautiful'. The centre believes that holistic beauty exudes from inside-out, stemming from a healthy mind, body and spirit. As Yafot Wellness uses cutting edge Western technologies with traditional Eastern practices in their treatments, customers get to experience the best of both worlds in their holistic wellness journey.

Yafot Wellness is located at Dempsey at Block 8D, the last block furthest from the bus stop along Holland Road. Knowing the accessibility of Dempsey, it would definitely be more convenient if you drive or grab to Yafot Wellness than take public transport.

I don't actually drive, so I intentionally set off 20 minutes earlier so that I could walk to this block after alighting from the bus. Considering that I hadn't been to Dempsey for a while, it was quite a nice stroll and I spotted an exciting pop-up event happening in the vicinity too.

The first thing I noticed about Yafot Wellness was how aesthetically pleasing the centre looked.

The centre was decked in my favourite Scandinavian colours (i.e. light wood); there was the large round mirror that I liked, and even the dried fluffy pampas grass decor was something I had been eyeing for my house.

I was greeted warmly by the beauticians when I stepped in and they got me to change out of my shoes to lounge slippers.

They then brought me on a tour around the centre. The centre was bigger than I thought, with plenty of treatment rooms behind these lovely pink curtains. Some of the services provided by Yafot Wellness are i) body and slimming treatments, ii) stress and pain management as well as iii) facials.

I was invited to try two treatments at the centre - the DeepCell Body Treatment and the Triple Oxygen Facial Treatment.

Prior to the treatments, I had an assessment of my capillaries to check if I have any blocked meridians. Healthy capillaries have simple structures (they looked like long U-shaped lines). If the capillaries looked complex (i.e. meandering/criss cross/twisted structures), it's a warning sign that there may be some issues at selected parts of your body.

Although my capillaries were generally healthy, there were some areas with complex capillary structures, such as my intestines and womb. From my capillaries, they could tell that I have sleep issues (i.e. sleep late/have insomnia) as well, which was totally spot on.

My treatments took place in this cosy couple room next to a gorgeous view of lush greenery. I loved the natural light streaming in, and it's too bad that my husband wasn't there with me to experience a treatment together.

I started with the DeepCell Body Treatment, which tackles stress and insomnia issues by rebalancing my meridians. This 60 minute treatment uses low-frequency bio-electric currents to penetrate through my body's meridian points, detecting unhealthy frequencies and repairing my cells. It also discharges toxins from my body and improves my blood circulation.

I may look like I had shock devices strapped to me, but trust me, it wasn't as scary as it seemed on pictures.

With the bio-electric currents passing through my body, all I experienced was intense vibration at targeted areas like my back and feet. With higher frequency, I also felt a 'clenching' or a 'squeezing' sensation at my muscles. The process was entirely pain-free, though you might feel very sore at your problem areas. For example, my shoulders and upper back were exceptionally tight and achey during the treatment, as though there was a heavy weight placed on top of them.

Beyond using technology, the beautician also gave me a body massage with the help of essential oils. She was meticulous, almost as if she was on the mission to remove all knots from my body. Although I yelped a few times when she placed pressure on my sore spots, she truly massaged away my tensions and aches. My body felt incredibly light after this treatment, and my mind was rejuvenated and relaxed.

To show my skin some tender loving care, I also went through a Triple Oxygen Facial Treatment.

This involved using an astonishingly effective Oxygen Mousse Cleanser to clean my face, followed by two masks application. When the beautician asked me to touch my face after cleansing, I was stunned that my skin was so baby smooth. She also gave me a quick eyebrow trim too.

After cleansing, an oxygen mask was applied over my face. The mask felt a tad stingy on my eyebrows so the beautician reacted quickly and removed the mask from my brows. A cooling pink mask was then applied over my face to boost its hydration and brighten my skin.

I was the happiest when the beautician gave me a shoulder massage using Ginseng serum. She was evidently very skilled in massages, and was kind enough to ask me if I was open to a Ginseng serum or a non-scented serum. I opted for Ginseng because I loved the scent tremendously!

After an hour of facial, my skin looked refreshed and bright, and I barely noticed my pores. Woohoo! I wished I have somewhere nice to go so that I could flaunt my awesome complexion!

Post-session, I was treated to a warm cup of their specialty drink - a Butterfly Pea Flower and Rose Tea. I loved the tea so much that I might just brew something similar at home! :)
