Cosmopolitan 3rd Anniversary, Left Behind Movie Preview, Renaza Classic Manicure & Pole

Hi everybody!

September was a mega busy month in terms of work and it was even tougher nursing a flu while having loads on my plate.

That said, I am very glad that the ill phase is over. Nothing beats being healthy and strong again.

After Thermos' 110th Anniversary in September, my friends and I rushed to F.Club to attend Cosmopolitan's 3rd Anniversary.

We were half an hour late but apparently, the event hadn't started yet so we didn't miss anything.

The super long queue which we were stuck at for a while.

The Cosmpolitan Magazine Wall. I love this!

The club was so crowded that I practically had to squeeze through the crowd to enter the club. There were actually some shows going on but the crowd was just too insane.

DKNY was one of the sponsors for the event. Check out my access tag - it looked like I was wearing a real DKNY watch.

Chilling the night away with these girls. :)

Received a very generous door gift from Cosmopolitan Singapore.

Just look at the array of goodies - from snacks to beauty products and surprising finds like a La Senza lacey underwear. I like most of what I've received though so thank you!

Attended the movie preview of Left Behind few days ago, courteousy of movieexclusive.

Left Behind is an apocalyptic action-thriller about the Biblical Rapture, which basically involved people vanishing from the face of the earth because they were saved by God. Meanwhile, the remaining people were left to face a world full of disasters, chaos and crime.

It was an exciting movie which left me with some after-thoughts about the Rapture. Why did God made it happen? Why didn't God stop the disasters? And which one would I rather experience - to be saved by God or to be left behind? I guess many of us do not have the answers. Nevertheless, this movie did sparked some deep discussion between me and my Christian friends. :)

Got my nails painted at Renaza Nail Spa, thanks to a voucher that I received from participating in #renazanofilter instagram contest. Although I didn't win the contest, it was still nice to be treated to a complimentary classic manicure.

I love shimmery metallics and purple's my favourite colour. Thus, I was drawn to this colour called 'Next Stop, The Bikini Zone' by OPI. What a cute name!

Really loving the colour on my nails even though I'm pretty sure it wouldn't last very long. Well, let me just indulge while it lasts!

Graduated from Advanced Pole Cheoreography 3 and moved up to APC4. For the first time in my life, I managed to complete the long and deadly Cell Block Tango pole choreography on time without stopping. Perhaps I was more determined to give this choreo my best shot since I like the song a lot and always preferred dancing to fast-paced music no matter how challenging it might be. Suffered from multiple blue-blacks for the next few days but it was all worth it.

On the first lesson of APC4, we played around with some elbow stand variations because we are preparing to learn a trick called Iguana Mount. This was one of the variations that I had to do and surprisingly, it was easier than I thought.

Spent yesterday afternoon having pole practice at Polelab, a new workout place along Kreta Ayer. This place combines two of my favourite things together - a gym and a pole studio. As part of Polelab's open house, Polelab offered complimentary pole practice, not for 1 hour but for as long as we wish between 11am to 7pm. They're so generous that I love them already. Thus, I spent my whole afternoon practising tricks at a new place. How awesome.

Gym equipment for pole dancers to work out their arms and legs, train their strength and improve their stamina.

Some of the tricks that I did during practice session.

There were no mats so I couldn't do the more challenging tricks that I had difficulty with (was afraid I'll crash my head). My friends also taught me how to use the spinning pole but I just couldn't get the hang of the pole spinning too quickly and me becoming dizzy. Sigh. Controlling a spinning pole is more difficult than I thought.

First successful pole duo shot with Ebe.

We have actually tried more difficult pole duo shots but always found ourselves kicking into each other, ha ha. I supposed this simple pole duo shot was our best one so far.

Ending off with a hip hop concept video that I was obsessed with lately. I think I repeated this video for lord knows how many times. It was just too dope.

This video is called Salute by my friend's crew, Nemesis. I am totally digging the military theme, the choreography and the filmography. In fact, I even loved the way the girls salute. Please show some support by watching the video below!

One day, I shall aim to dance in a concept video like this. One day.

This is a very long entry so I shall stop here. Goodbye all and Happy Hari Raya to my Muslim friends!
