It starts out post-Chosen when Giles, as head of the Council, rescues Ethan from the Initiative, which has been torturing him for years. This story is AU after Wesley tried to kidnap Connor and is set about a year later.  This fic is wonderful.  There's angst, but it doesn't go overboard and I love the way these two work with the emotional issues.  It's hot and lovely and very well done.

Sometimes an abused child rescue fantasy is exactly what you want. It helps when the abused child is Xander, and his rescuer is Giles.
