(no subject)

This is a Curious Post.

During the past few months or so, my circles on the internet have come increasingly into contact with the notion of ' plurality' of personae in one body. I've been working to understand what the concept means and why other people feel that it describes them, so this post isn't an 'explain to me what plurals are, I don't know what the word means!' post.

Instead, it's a curious post--is this a subject that you-the-reader have been pursuing on your own, purely out of fascination? Or do you-the-reader(s) identify as plural? Is it a subject that you-the-reader don't understand, and would you like someone more qualified than I am to explain it to you? Most of all, though, if you have a strong emotional tie to this identity for whatever reason, I'd like to know why and how you came to that place. When I come across an idea that I can grasp intellectually but don't yet grasp emotionally, I want to talk about it with people and figure out what it means to them.

Therefore--this should go without saying, right?--I'd like to see civility in the comments to this post. No dismissing the whole concept of plural people out of hand, no insisting that they're crazy or disordered or misinterpreting their own experiences; that's not the purpose of this post, and that's not the purpose of the discussion I want to foster here. Just sharing, and asking, and exploring.

Friendslock is off; anonymous commenting is on.

Side note: Love to dejablue7 for bringing up a form of identity that I'd honestly never considered, and for making me think about it.
