What I like about this when combined with the news about Rosenbaum (and yeah, it may be me being Pollyannish, as is typical of me!) is that it puts the trajectory of the season firmly back on the Clark-Lex axis. With the multitude of visitors and villains and guest stars, it was looking a bit crowded and muddled, but this makes the Clark/Lex/clone storyline the throughline for the whole season, and Lex and his manipulations basically the villain who's been engineering everything. Rosenbaum's confirmed return means that they don't have to shuffle something else into his place in the finale.
Because now we know that 'Our' Lex isn't dead, for certain.
He bought Tess to Cadmus and I wouldn't be surprised if a) he knew Tess was a Checkmate agent, and b) hastened Chloe's involvement in the Suicide Squad along if only get the major players to where he needs them.
(Because I will never be able to handle Chloe as their leader even if she did find out about the attempt to kill Sam Lane it makes sence, that given Lex and Waller's partnership in the future that he pulled strings to get her where she is- I want to like Chloe but I can only do so if her hubris proves her downfall and if it has to be at Lex's hands so be it. And wow that was a long paragraph/sentence)
And with the loss of the Numan/Segeeth symbolism for Clex when Davis appeared on the scene- is it wrong of me to substitute a Conner in there?
