Le Weekend

Made some new Snoopy icons this weekend and I am pretty pleased with how they turned out!

So yesterday, I cleaned and did the Walmart thing as usual, and then we went to visit Daniel's grandmother -- again.

These visits are getting increasingly frequent but his dad insisted that she had something important she wanted to discuss with me.

I gave him a look and he looked back. "It isn't what you're thinking," he says, "she wants to talk to Carole (my mother-in-law) about the same thing."

"Definitely not what I thought, then" I say, but I couldn't resist a chuckle and the afterthought, "I am sure she'll manage to work the other in though...".

"Probably." he said.

Turns out he only knew half of her request. She wants Carole and I to go through after she passes and take care of removing her personal things, clothes, shoes, purses, hair things, jewelery, etc. so that her husband doesn't have to.

The part Kirby (Daniel's father) doesn't know and I am convinced no one does... is that she gave me three letters, one to her husband, one to her son, and one to her sister, which she wants me to pass on when she passes away. She told me she had written them in a hurry on one of the very few occasions when she had been in the house alone, and they were "on funny paper" because she was in a hurry to write them.

She looked like she trusted me completely. "You asked if there was anything I needed, anything you could do for me, when I was in the hospital," she said, "well this is it."

family, personal
